What would happen if LYB agrees to take RI under his wings?

Not sure if this has been posted before in the forum. Apparently there's a documentary short video series of Ratchanok aka May about her daily life, badminton life, family, etc produced by local Thai sports channel available on youtube. Unfortunately no subs are available, however, just watching the video and May's face is more than enough to sums up what the video is all about. :p

There's total of 22 episodes available.

The weight of expectation is beginning to take it's toll on the free-flowing style of young May.

She needs to step away from the tentacles of the past. And learn how to own the present moment. That is what the most successful champions can switch on. Her coaches and team need to also understand that she has already arrived at the place where the mental strength that she does have, needs to be fortified.

The good news for her, is actually a lot. She still has age on her side. She is still among the best players in the world. She still has all her skills intact. However, there is the very real worry of burn-out, and confusion following the burst of media attention and everything else in Thailand. How she is managed now will dictate how her professional future shapes up.

I agree totally. One of her strength is the entertaining "free-flowing" style which is cramped down once you get nervous and too fearful of the outcome. I can only wish her luck, since I am not knowledgeable enough to suggest anything like a new coach or a sport psychologist. Tai Tzu Ying is also in the same boat. My only regret is that the prize money in this sport is so small and good coaches are expensive.

Actually, that coach is with her during this Singapore tournament. He is Chinese. His last name is Xia. He has been with May since she was 6 or 7 years old. Maybe that is the reason she plays well against Takahashi today.

ic, so Coach Xia is back coaching May... good for her, can see that during Worlc chmapship, she is very attach to that coach, sort like father and daughter.

wow... since she was 6-7... he must be a very good coach, because it takes different approach for different age group.

Ratchanok Inthanon might play in a 'new (badminton) venture' in Singapore.
Can't reveal more because I really don't have any details... but it's in 2014 itself.

Lovely smile and demeanor. But she looks so nervous at her greeting by the Yonex staff. Doesn't she know that she makes them lots of money?

Would anyone be kind enough to translate a summary of her Q&A of the interview?

I think she was surprised that quite a few Yonex staff were there to welcome her. She said Japan is nice and clean. The Japanese are friendly. Japanese food is delicious. Japanese badminton players are hard-working and dedicated.

thira : Thank you for the excellent summary. :)

Ratchanok appears to be a very gracious woman. An excellent, hard-working, polite role model.

Thats why I like her :) I also like to see her smile on the court and enjoy the game. May is a good role model =)

Anyway she doing good in Indonesia Open SSP. And looks like she comeback to 'real badminton'...Really happy for her :) hope she maintain the good performance.

I think Indonesia is Thailand girls luck. Nichaon and Busanan also doing good.

The picture taken outdoor is from Japan. Porntip survived the first round and did not have a chance to go sight seeing with the other 3 girls.
I do not know where the other pic was taken.

May got influenza the other day. According to the doctor, she has to take a 5-day antibiotics course and have at least a one-week rest without hard training. Can she make it to WC?:crying:
