I have been playing voltric5 for sometime now..the racquet helps me with clears and smashes. But it's somewhat weak in placing the shuttle.

That is what is expected out of it I guess, being a medium flex.

Am more of a defensive+placement player. Please suggest a stiff racquet, even or slightly head heavy.

I play plastic shuttles 80% of the time.
    Thanks.

I don't know the VT 5, but the VT 9 Neo definetely is head heavy !

IMVHO it even might to be to much in your case, because it makes the VT 9 kind of slow : Not the best feature for defensive game, if you ask me ... !

How about a Victor Meteor X80? It seems to have the specs you are looking for and the reviews on it are good.

Spec-wise the AS11 might be a good fit. Stiff, somewhat head-heavy, built largely for defense/control.

How about first increase your tension by 2 lbs and see what happens?

Changing racquet/strings/string tension is of marginal benefit.

Practising more (that means training specifically on defence) and having better technique will do more.

Am kind of an intermediate player and good at defence.

But the thing is I was able to place my drive or smashes somewhat accurately(say 80%) when I was using cab8000.

As it was difficult for me to generate more power in that, I bought vt5.
My shots in vt5 are more fast and powerful, but the accuracy is reduced (say 50%).

I think that is due to the medium flex of the racquet and looking forward to buy a stiffer racquet. Please advise if am wrong

    Strings I used:
    BG65 @ 24 lbs on cab &
    BG68ti @ 24 lbs on vt5

try using bs 11, it's slightly head heavy and quite stiff also (not as stiff as bs10 or mx80 definitely)...provides a good control and quite a fast swing due to the head design also
