In the latest world ranking issued today, there are 6 Malaysian men singles players ranked in the top 24, namely: Lee Chong Wei (#6) Wong Choong Hann (#7) Hafiz Hashim (#9) Roslin Hashim (#20) Sairul Amar Ayob (#22) Kuan Beng Hong (#23) So, Malaysia is almost certain to be eligible for sending 3 MS entries. Question: Which 3 players should BAM send to Anaheim? Hmm.... Where is the poll option??
Judging on current form : LeeCW, WongCH and Hafiz! Though Roslin as a "Gade killer" could also be quite useful to the squad! Another solution is for the four of them to be in the top 8... rather difficult though... Kuan Beng Hong and Sairul Amar Ayob will probably have to wait for their turn... (unless they perform incredibly well in the spring GP events)
Poll added. The first two are obvious (LCW + WCH), but the third is difficult. SAA+ KBH are unproven at that level, so their selections look unlikely at the moment. Roslin is more consistent, but if they are looking for a winner then I wouldnt think roslin is the man. I go for Hafiz, but I don't know when the choice has to be made by(Seven?).
mmm. If they include roslin in the lineup just for the sake to kill Gade, what if by chance the Danish put in kenneth there and roslin is hosed....

Malaysia if I am not wrong always send the three top ranking players. And in the current form, Hafiz is better than Hashim.
Hashim is Roslin and Hafiz's father. I would expect Hafiz to be better than his father in badminton too!
WCH appears to be on the way down. The place should be given to one from the 'next generation' with the best potential.
Some changes in the Malaysian ranking seen after the Thai and Japan Open. Lee CW - moved up to #5 (all time career high) Hafiz Hashim - the new Malaysian no 2 at world #8 spot Wong CH - dropped out of top 10, now ranked 11 Kuan BH - reached his career high at world #14 Sairul Amar - world #20 Roslin Hashim - world #21 No doubt, Lee CW and Hafiz has virtually seal their LA ticket. Who will be the 3rd player for Malaysia? Kuan BH has been making waves lately, and can be deemed as serious threat to Wong CH. Don't rule out Roslin as well, especially with Misbun's influence in the squad selection thought Roslin is no longer in the top 20. Sairul can kiss goodbye to his WC hopes... thanks for his offensive actions towards Misbun. I'm seeing a 3-horse race between Wong CH, Kuan BH and Roslin. Would be interesting to see who will Misbun pick eventually.
Choon Hann is 3rd MS Wong Choon Hann shall be the 3rd MS representing Malaysia unless he's injure. I don't think anyone, including Misbun, dare to use his influence to replace Choon Hann with Roslin. Head coach Yap Kim Hock, a Mr. nice guy, is certainly not going to make this unpopular decision.
Moving on a few months, My choice is still the same. But with different preferences. LCW and Hafiz will be my definites. WCH still the one to go for IMO, he has experiecne and has potential to win. KBH may be almost ahead of him in the rankings, and the experience may be good for him, but does anyone seriousley think he has a chance to win? Still a few more months though. To be continued.
