Hi I am have a lot of question to ask, first of all I been playing badminton with string tension 28lb and I was very comfortable, but are stopping badminton for 2 month. I wasn't able to hit the shuttle far with 28lb, but I think 2 month the string should drop to 26lb, but at 26lb I still feel hard to clear the shuttle. I am not sure if I become weaker, or it perhap the string is dead after not using for 2 month. So do you think I have grown weaker, or do you think I should restring to make the string fresh, because I feel my string a bit dead feeling. So I am not sure what tension to restring, Any suggestion? do you think is my power became weak, or it is the string became dead because I haven't play for 2 month. Because I heard the string as time goes by it became dead so you have to restring to be fresh. Sorry for I have a hard time expressing myself.

A bit of both I suppose... which string is it? Certain strings like BG66UM and VS850 are well known for this dead feeling after a length of time...

Decreasing in lbs of your string could contribute to that, however, keep in mind maybe you just had a hard time adjusting yourself in getting the shuttle to hit the sweet spot constantly after long time of resting, it happens to me before this, or maybe you just had a bad wrist day, give it a try in few days and decide whether to restring or not.

I am using NBG 98, what the difference between a 28lb drop to 26lb vs a new fresh 26 it is the same? I mean both are 26 lb right?

Other than that I think I still have my power I just went training with my coach and I play with him he said my skill level is advanced, so I should be good enough to use a 26lb right??..... not sure but I will try to wait a fews more days and see how things goes and Thanks by the way.

Timing is off after the break.

Changing strings will help get the feel back.

BG 80 is a good all round string at that tension.

From my own experience the NBG98 (27lbs) will lose its repulsion after awhile. But when freshly strung the repulsion is even better than BG66UM. BG66UM (21lbs) can maintain good repulsion throughout although the cracking sound when it is still fresh would be gone.

Before you use 28 pounds, you may not really apply 28 pounds, about 25 pounds Try using 66UM string, should improve.

For me, I switched from NBG 98 to BG 80.

No way durability of BG 80 is same as BG 66.

I must confirm BG80 lasts very long in comparison to BG66. To test if the string is dead, you can ask some people at your club to test out your racket, because without a stop, they should be able to hit with the sweet spot.

yeah I think my string is dead because even i hit the sweet spot I don't feel any bound, unlike my friend racket same tension as mine but fresh seem to have more bound so i guess is dead my string.
