Tried the 66 today. Certainly better than the 69, IMO, but still too soft. Decent power, and probably as durable as most .68+ strings, but the softness made it a big vague in both feel and placement.

Better than the old Z65, though? Yes. And held tension extremely well.

^ For you RX110, VS850, BG80 users, everything else is soft...

But you have to admit, it's better than 65 in all aspects.

Tried the 66, on 2 different raquets, including the new PPv2, and have not been impressed with the provided power and control. Surely seems much more durable, but this is not what I am looking for. Am in process of re-stringing with my usual ZM62.

I won't comment on having had a quick hit with 62f on plastics today then. But in a word: 'repulsion'.

Who's going to be selling it locally and how much for a pack and reel?

Black Knight Canada office in Burnaby.
A reel for 120, didn't ask about pack.

That's a pretty big premium over a reel of ZM62.

Whats up with the price for those?

Ashaway has previously been cheaper than yonex by quite alot..

Its almost double the price compared to the zymax 65 at least at my place it is.

Oh. The price seemed pretty good over here. £54 each after VAT if you buy at least 2.

I find it generally pings lower than expected, and I've just done 66 @1220hz, which is what is expect from previous Zymax. Should be interesting. 200hz higher than what I just cut out, and no idea how much it drops yet. I'll be taking a spare to my match tonight!

I found that in Canada the price difference isn't that big. I was playing with zymax 65 a couple years ago and I think I was still paying $12 per pack. Compared to $17 for yonex. Still cheaper, but I've noticed ashaway is really cheap in some countries.

It £72 for a reel at stringersworld..

Zymax 65 is only £36 here, including shipping, thats quite a bump up in price, the new XS line is only £2 cheaper than a reel of BG80 here..

Anywhere else its possible to get it cheaper? Would love to test it..

Comparing to when Zymax first came out few years ago, this Fire is just a little bit more. Of course if comparing to old Zymax now that it's at a clearance pricing, the new Zymax Fire would seem to be double, wouldn't it? ;) But I have this feeling that the old Zymax won't sell much despite being half price... if you have tried the Fire, that is...

In any case pricing is comparable to Victor strings, cheaper than any Yonex string.

$110 a reel here in Texas. That's £72. Right on. ZyMax GenII is $90.

I have the feeling that Black Knight is making huge margins on Ashaway stuff, which makes it even more expensive in stores.

The wholesale cost here is the same as the retail cost in other countries.

For those of you who have played 62F, does it move as crazy as 62 Mk2? The amount of movement that ZM65 does is kinda my limit of tolerance.
