Lol... 600 Hz?! Assuming linearity down that low and 30 Hz is equivalent to 1 lb, I'm guessing 10-12 lbs even!
That's right... Here's a single string measurement that kwun did a while back on ZM62. As you can see, quite linear in the range we're interested in... 1 lb equivalent to 30 Hz. And these measurements match quite well with my experience with several good stringers. NB: these are more representative of stabilized frequencies, ie not right off the machine.
Thought I'd share the stringbed frequencies I've been calculating for a while now. Especially if someone somewhere compiles these globally! I think it's a very good indication of consistency for my stringing jobs, and also, it helps to figure out approximate tension of stringbeds when someone asks how much it is. All of these were taken right off the machine (klippermate m140) Mains are always 1lb less than written tension, crosses 1lb more (ie 23 is 22x24) Here is the Excel doc: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ch3wxap58lnef2r/strings.xlsx?dl=0 David
Well, my experience with BG65(0.70mm) @ 24lbs is 975 Hz, so 375/30= 12.5 lbs lower. Of course, a 0.75mm factory string would be around 2 lbs more...
Ah I see thanks. I just was wondering since in my experience 28lbs is about 1200hz in bg65 .70 and 24-25lbs bg66um .65 is about 1200hz. So that would suggest 3 or 4lbs difference per .05mm guage increase. Given that 28lbs in .70 is about 1200hz, mater got 600hz which is half that, so gives you 14lbs then add on .05mm gauge(probable cheap racket gauge) gives you 17-18lbs which was quite away from your 10-12lbs. When I look at it now though there is not as much difference as I thought.
I finished 2 Adidas P350. One with BG65 blue and one with ZM 62 (2nd gen) yellow yet. BG65: Tension: 23x25 PS, 1123 Hz. ZM62: Tension: 22x24, 1172 Hz
Just had strung ZM62 silver 1st generation (=ZM60... even thinner than 2nd gen). At 23x24 lbs, it has stabilized at 1220 Hz after 1 wk.
Yup right off & need to buy new clamps mine are slipping , mbs 6 tooth ones or should I get hiqua 6 tooth. Currently use pros pro ones
Can't help you. I don't have any experieces with the mbs or hiqua ones. I can only recommend the YY's. They can handle 26lbs with ease. For anything above I use my fixed clamps.
This one broke yesterday. Now 30x30 BG Power on the same BS10 again. 1324Hz right off the machine. Should be a constant and reproduceable result.
