It does bother me. But I just have to remind my self that its just sour grapes. I think the big test will be next week in Malaysia. Chinese WS will certainly be better prepared this time.
i have atually filmed the ws prize presentation ceremony but uploading it here will be tough for me right now.
It's OK. Yup. but like I said: It's a repeat of China SSP. If you can win in singles and in China and India. That's all that matters. Personally I have never been too much into doubles. I enjoy them, but singles is what gets my heart racing. As far as excuses goes- they always do that. Yesterday some guy compared Saina's number 1 to Jelena Jankovic. As I pointed out: In 2015- 3 tournaments , 3 finals and 2 titles. And those 2 tiltles by beating 2014 and 2013 world champs. That's pretty much Jelena Jankovic level I guess. That's India for you. Always overexcited.
Please take yout time. Did you record the chat as well? Did take pictures of the commentary box as well?
ahahahaha. .yeah, or is that caroline wozniacki level. .ohhh wait it can be a dinara safina level as well.
Yup, and she beat 2011 world champ on the way too. That's pretty much Jelena Jankovic level. Or is it caroline Wozniacki level?
you should better ask the "EXPERT" of the "EXPERTS" of this forum about this, i mean he is the only one person who writes logical posts which are totally "IMPARTIAL" and he has got one follower too now, may be his "FOLLOWER" can answer you.
He will get the difference between his worst result between his best-10 during the last 12 months by the 11000.
World #1 ranking is great but at the end of day its the titles you won that determine your history standing Li Na never got to no 1 in the world rankings but she's in the history books by winning 2 Grand Slams. Nobody will remember Wozniacki, Jankovic or Safina for the tonnes of tournaments they won over their career so far. As of now, Saina's no 1 ranking is only worth... USD$8,000
Anyway, what we can hope for is that Saina will maintain her level so she can be a great rival for Chinese WS. Inthanon was suppose to be but it appears that she lacks in consistency. Marin will probably do, but the more the better. WS used to be not so good to watch, but with rivalry at the top, it will get even better then MS
For sure, the bonus is rather disappointing given she's the first person in her country to be ranked no.1 in the world. But for the CV and postcareer dinners/motivational speeches, it raises her market value. Although we like to see dominance, it's actually healthier for badminton in the long term to see a variety of winners. It increases the profile of the players, they gain status, helps them generate income and promote the game further down the years when they visit training centres or open their own academies. On a deeper social aspect, this is a massive shot in the arm for ladies badminton in India. Off hand, I can't think of any Indian sports ladies except for Mirza. Many Indian boys are attracted to cricket. So, there is a massive pool of Indian girls who are potential badminton players.
Indeed, IMO Luo Twins isn't strong as normally CHN pair despite Matsutomo/Takahashi won match narrowly, good defense by Luo combo but seems they have no lethal attacking smashes. Yup, it's long time no see your cute emoticon, aulia Agree, no clear favourite on yesterday's final, really entertaining for badminton fans. WD spent longest duration as usual, 80mins battle with long rallies between two pairs but JPN duo has more various shots to overcome solid defense by Luo Twins. Liu/Bao has bright prospect to replace their senior Xu/Ma whom showing declining trend recently. CHN young and dangerous pair succeeded to cope high pressure against more senior opponent, Fischer/Pedersen. Chai/Hong started aggressive style directly from early stages, accurate smashes that caused Danish Conrad/Koling couldn't develop their gameplan, excellent performance by Chinese pair as they also reduced uncharacteristic errors. Nehwal v Intanon, the Indian dictated pace of game, Intanon couldn't do too much, only several times she outwitted Nehwal with deceptive cross court netshots. Last match, Axelsen was influenced by his misjudgment at 12-10 deciding game that forced him produced lots of errors till the end of match and Srikant locked him on 21-12. It's pretty balance for first two games, but Srikanth has more powerful smashes also good backhand and netplay. Congrats to host IND to bag two titles also CHN and JPN as well! Srikanth and Saina repeat their successful in CHN Premier last November, first SS title for both Liu/Bao, Chai/Hong and third to Matsutomo/Takahashi
