SS is equivalent to Premier 5 while SSP is eqivalent to Premier Mandatory. SM has 4 Premier Mandatories and 1 Premier 5

The Majors are WCs and Olys in non team events. Lets add AE and SSF to make it 4 and thus equitable with tennis.

wrong & who are you decide what is equivalent to what?

SS= Grand slam = Highest prize OPEN tournament.
BWF has well defined definition of major.

And if SS frequency is too much, then SSP= GS.

And in all probability never will :-(
While Saina in all probability will win again (with and improved colour) :)

Fun Fact :-- Infostrada is currently listing Sania as Gold favourite for Rio (XD). According to them that will be our only medal if Olympics start tomorrow.
I believe Jitu Rai is our best bet. (Now please don't confuse this as an attemt to undersell Saina and start it into another Saina vs Jitu i.e. India vs India diatribe. We need India with India.) Jite koi bhi upar toh Tirange ko hi chadna hai. Pata nahi tumhe tennis me tiranga upar dekh kar khushi kyun nahi ho rahi :-(

Who was comparing? I was simply celebrating. Pata nahi ais din phir kab aaye. Reminds me of days when we had Sach, Rahul, Dada and Lax playing together and ppl used to fight over who is better lol. Duh. They were playing for the same cause. Today those who used to bash 3 of the 4 will probably give an arm and a leg to have proper match winning Test batsmen of that calibre back in the team...

BTW UC does count. Its more imoportant than WCs (but less than Olympics.) By saying UC doesn't counts you are demeaning our medal. (And Saina's too.)

Probably you don't like Saina

You, I am afraid.

Why not? I hope she wins. And I hope she does not fight over partnering Leander this time.

And SS is not in that definition FYI.
And if SS=GS than are you implying SS>WC or SS>Oly???
Whats wrong in wanting and wishing Saina to win WC and Oly???

Looks like you don't like Saina. Thats why you don't want her to win WCs and Olympics and only win SS.

you can't even compare tennis with badminton or any sport with another for that matter. .both sania's and saina's achievements are nothing less than anyone considering the state of olympics sports in our country and that too women's in sports. .sania showed the way to rest of the Indians by representing us in the whole world and saina followed soon after. .and sania's for that matter was one of the most feared forehand in the world of tennis and it still is, the only mistake sania made was she played all the three disciplines including doubles and mixed which is not at all easy. .she started getting injured and then made the decision to quit singles and focus more on doubles, had saina got a better fitness training she would have achieved way more in singles then what she could. .and saina played doubles only to improve her game and skills as far as i understand. .she never was a doubles player but played ocassionally with charmine reid. .anyways both have made our country proud and i am a huge fan of both the ladies, can't even think of comparing their achievements when they don't even play similar sport.

No, and I have never said SS is the same as major.
But even in media SS is usually seen as the equivalent of Grand Slam.

Nothing. Even I want that.

When on earth was I comparing them dude??? Go read my post. I posted a note of jubilious celebration on such an historic coincidence (a word I used there as well). And you started running down Sania's tremendous achievement by saying crap about doubles.

Do I come across that stupid to you that I will compare the achievements of SN with SM?? Every kid knows SN has achieved a hell lot more. Other Than Mary and Kunjurani Devi, no Indian sportswoman has achieved as much as SN yet. Not even Malleshwari. Although I expect Vinesh Phogat to step up soon (by 2020).

Don't understand why you are so insecure about SN's achievements.

Both her and Lee are deuce courters.

In December 2004, SM's ITF circuit W/L percentage record was 2nd best in history to Steffi Graf.

Love your last point. I wish everyone in this forum had the same maturity.

I don't understand what 'Sania' doing here . Not at all justified even if somebody wants to mention her newly acquired ranking.

First of all, Saina vs Sania topic itself wrong.. That makes it India vs India. What do we get from this. Badminton vs Tennis ?? !! Imoh. Both are totally different fields .. Unfortunately, we are seeing a elongating thread of saina with Sania's name incorporated in it (not at all necessary). I do accept Airos's views in this.

In Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Danish, Malaysian media??? Or our hyperbolic corporate media with limited sports culture?

If you really do, then why did you target me when I wished and prayed that may both Saina and Sania achieve it this year???

i don't find anything wrong in mentioning sania's name in a post to celebrate the achievements of both saina and sania who reached the pinnacle in their respective sport almost at the same time period, what's wrong is to start comparing their achievement's.

Saina Vs. Sania.......... on a lighter note !!

Saina & Sania

Similarity in name was already causing some confusion. To add to this confusion both have achieved No 1 Rank, at same time.

How about requesting either of them to change the name !! lol !!

In my area one over enthusiastic and ill informed political leader flashed a Flex Board congratulating Shuttle Queen Saina Nehawal on her achieving No. 1 rank but board carried the picture of Sania Mirza wielding tennis racket !! lol !!:eek:
