http://www.thestar.com.my/Sport/Badminton/2015/04/27/Looks-like-its-good-news-for-Lee-Chong-Wei/ Excerpts: The BWF press release further stated: "Given arguments and evidence put forward by Chong Wei’s legal team at the hearing in the Netherlands, the panel is convinced this is not a case of doping with intent to cheat."
So what tournaments are next? Aus SS and Ina PSS entry deadlines have already passed. He will play Sudirman Cup and then SEA games. After that maybe Canada and Chinese Taipei Open for some points and match training for the worlds?
http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2015/04/27/Lee-Chong-Wei-ban-eight-months/ If he can't play in the individual event of the SEA games then the US Open GPG becomes a good option as well.
It is highly likely! SEA games no ranking points - it's just for match practice, playing in different conditions etc.
I have heard one interview of Malaysian sports Minister about SEA games and LCW's non inclusion. He said that if LCW participates, he will win even if he plays with left hand. He was willing to give other players exposure to play in the games .
I don't think he's been to US / CAN tournaments to play often does he? Has he ever played in the US GPG or CAN Open? Would be nice to give them a chance to see LCW live on court! Anyway, this is the best case scenario. Great to see him able to get back onto the tournament courts so quick. Sadly if he were able to play a tad earlier, we would've seen him playing at the Malaysian Open last month.
8-month ban is too harsh a sentence for use of non-inflammatory medication with no performance enhancing property. Good news is, LCW is now free to participate in tournament, which will greatly help to prepare him for Rio.
After a long wait, LCW will be back to court to challenge for more hounour in world of badminton. Much discussions have been going on among badminton fans, players, coaches, officials, ministers for the past few months. Finally, he can have a peace of mind in training and in competition. Not sure how much the situation will affect him in terms of his performance, mental modals..etc.. We shall wait and see how he responds to all these situation very soon. I believe from the decision, not only LCW can have a sigh of relieves from all the stress on him all this while but most importantly for BAM as well. Just look at the achievements of BAM's players internationally since the suspension of LCW.. (Apart from the Poland Open).. This shows just how much Malaysia badminton rely and needing him so badly and I couldn't even imagine the state of badminton in Malaysia in years to come. Fingers crossed Morten Frost is able to do something to change the current situation of Malaysia badminton. Last but not least, just want to dedicate my 30k posts count in BC for the return of former world no 1, Lee Chong Wei's return to (badminton) court.
Yes and no, he's guilty of not knowing what goes into his body but was he a willing participant? Probably not...who knows? Let's look at what was found...Dexa which is non-performance enhancing used to treat injuries. I know some of the circuit players found it bizarre that he could be nominated for Malaysia's sportperson of the year when he's suspended for a doping violation. Not sure what the criteria are for that award but that's Malaysia for you.
