    They have different personality that's for sure. It is a fact that LD often sing praise of his opponents. But perhaps it is easier to do so when you beat them all...

    TH says he is better than LD during SC 05, coz the Indonesian had better H2H, and won more top tournaments compare to LD

    When reporters raised the subject of Lin Dan and Chen Long competing for the leading MS position, Lin Dan responded:" After the Sudirman cup, should become more intense, hope Chen Long and I will get better and better."

    In the final of the Sudirman Cup he has been using red strings. But I suspect that they were originally yellow BG66UM and he painted them with red ink all over, because you could see flashes of yellow on the sweet spot area. :)

    Going by Li Yongbo's accounting of world championships comprising the world title (World Championships), the Olympic gold, the former world cup, the Thomas and Uber Cups, and the Sudirman Cup, today's triumph marks Lin Dan's 19th World Championship.

    In fact, according to one report, Lin Dan holds the record for the most number of world championship won in Chinese summer sport history for male athletes, surpassing his table tennis counterparts Wang Hao and Ma Lin who won eighteen. Actually, in Chinese sport history in general, the male athlete with the most number of world championships to his name is short track speed skater (ice speed skating),Li Jia Jun, who has never won an Olympic gold but thanks to his world championship and world cup titles of 21 make him the recordholder.

    Lin Dan's 19 World Champion titles comprise:

    Two Olympic golds at 2008 Beijing and 2012 London;

    Five Men's Singles World Championships in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011,and 2013;

    Two World Cup Titles in 2005 and 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton_World_Cup ;

    Five Sudirman Cups in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2015; and

    Five Thomas Cups in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012.

    In addition, Lin Dan has to date garnered 57 international individual MS titles, excluding team championships. He won his first title at age 19, capturing the Korean Open in 2002. In comparison, 'model worker' Lee CW has played at least twice as many tournaments as Lin Dan, but his total number of MS titles won is 55, fewer than Lin Dan's. Taufik Hidayat who started his career a few years earlier than Lin Dan, won only 27 MS titles, not even half of Lin Dan's.

    Lastly, Lin Dan has clearly expressed that he hoped to carry on until 2020 Tokyo Olympics ! Before then, there is still the World Championships, the Thomas Cups, the Sudirman Cups, and the Rio Olympics awaiting him, for Super Dan to take another three world champion titles exceeding Li Jia Jun's 21 is only a matter of time, a question of when. http://sports.qq.com/a/20150517/022231.htm

    first you start using cool choice of words quoting LD chances are totally dependent on CL and KS playing in the tourney then with stupid sense of humour to question if LD is scared of these two.I am sure i am responding to someone who enjoys LD's defeat quite a lot to an extent of more than necessary...anyway dont provoke people here

    At critical moments LYB still trusts LD over CL.

    last paragraph: We considered a lot of possible situations when sending out LD, since being the third match it would be quite possible that we were 0-2 down or 1-1 tied.

    Seems like Lin Dan has still got this year's WC, next year's olympic, thomas cup at the very least to catch up with the speed skater.
    His eventual decline in physical ability will make his chances in getting a more world champion titles more difficult post 2016 Rio.

    As much as I would love to see Lin Dan around, him winning is the single determining factor that makes him the 'Super Dan' fans know and love. He's only going to decline in age and Chen Long may still have another break through if he can up his offensive game. It would be a rather glaring blemish if Lin Dan loses his status as 'Super Dan' if he continues his losing streak to Chen Long.

    The most ideal is probably for him to retire a year or two after 2016, but not stretch all the way to 2020.
