Usually when you have a clash of two different sponsors, it is in the agreement of how to proceed. There is probably an agreement for LCW to wear victor shirt if the logo is certain size. That's why the bigger logo is covered up.
Thank you, you're far too kind. Lee Chong Wei must have the worse luck in the world regarding Olympic qualification periods. He injured himself during TC2012, and now a scandal right before he has to earn points again. So far LCW is back in normal form as demonstrated in the 3 matches played for sudirman cup. His next tournaments will be US Open and Canada Open, which are going to be treats for North American fans, but a walk in the park for him. Being able to make it through group stages for Malaysia will give LCW some good ranking points too. I don't quite how the algorithms work for Sudirman cup, but having any addition of points should place him above ZZ.
An appraisal of LCW 's game LCW win over Sho and SK has shown that he is still a level ahead of World No4 and 5 even if he is playing at 80% capacity. But decidedly , LCW is playing in a more relaxed manner only ramming up speed at crucial moments to break ahead and then let himslef off the pedal. A sort of like L D strategy. Whether he gets No 1 back or not is not important and I believe he must be like L D losing one or two SS final or SF is not a big deal but conserving and protecting the body for the OLy 2016 is a more important task. from what i have observe these few matches, he no longer lunge to defend every attack. Seem content to allow opponents to kill shuttle at certain part of the game only to use it at crucial points. Another part of his new game is that he now takes his shuttle very low to execute a very tight net shot when his opponent is at the back court. A lot of delayed movements and deception. Did u guys noticed?
I concur as well. Unlike soccer, badminton has a small market of sponsors. It is easy to dominate the market and exert influence. We can see the big players are only Yonex, Victor and Lining (which is falling off the radar soon.) Naturally, Yonex don't want their one of their biggest players to be wearing their competitor apparels especially when you have live coverage. Apparels are the best way to get to the audience to remember the brand as it's much more visible and for extended time. Unlike soccer, badminton court can be covered by one overhead cam and you still can see the distinct apparels and brand name on it. So when it comes to team competition like this, a mutual agreement has to be reached.
They haven't been doing well in their business. The stocks are falling and there's rumors they may going for bankruptcy.
If that's the case, China team might go with Adidas. They don't like Japanese brand except Lin Dan. Victor might be another one to think of. But if Li Ning really file for bankruptcy, I'm sure someone from one of the top 10 richest people in China is there to safe the company.
Depends if they can afford the China team. I'd see Yonex going to the China team over Adidas. Adidas are still early in the market. Products are not proven. Can't see China team switching over to Adidas racquets.
I heard Li Ning is partnering with Xiaomi to produce a pair of smart shoes, to be released in around July or August.
LCW and LD will be in Chinese reality show!http://www.thestar.com.my/Sport/Badminton/2015/05/22/Chong-Wei-busy-promoting-sport/
Any updates on which tournaments LCW will be playing? Sudirman cup gave a few good wins and some ranking points, but he stands to loose even more points within the next couple of weeks...
