I just got a 3u player's edition TK9900. This is probably a lighter 3u as it feel closer to 4u. I was told the player's edition has additional reinforcements at the head and the shaft is 20% more resilient. Cannot tell as I don't have anything to compare with. The blue is really nice!
oh god, a player's edition as well? this would be excellent for a collection. i hope it's all false though, or i'll do a lot more hunting and destroying wallets. the hk guys are supposed to be ahead of the rest of the world, how'd you get yours before they did (and a special edition i might add)? additionally, the rest of the world is mouth watering at a review of this, so please please please do a brief comparison to something (Tk9000/zf ii comes to mind). on the pic, the shaft seems long relative to the frame...wonder what this means...
Definitely legit. Waiting on mine but I'll only get it next week at this rate due to the holiday coming up..
I hate to disappoint people so this false and since it is false, no point for me to do a review or comparison
TK9900 arrived this morning. Sadly the shop stringer missed out the top cross but it's still usable so I'm not gonna cut it. It just means it's gonna go earlier on a missed hit and give me an excuse to get it done up again. I forgot to do BP measurements so don't shoot me On just holding you can tell it is head heavy. I'm not sure if it's because my racket is pretty light for a 3U or it's the way it has been designed with a compact head (about the same size as the HX800 by the way), but it feels even balanced to me until you starting swinging it around and then it shows and tells that it's a head heavy racket that shouldn't be taken so lightly. The frame is rock solid and honestly it feels like a tank and that's saying something considering how well the HX800 and JS10 have both been done. Twisting it in my hands I find it not as stable as the HX800 or the JS10 but it isn't very far behind either. My initial worries about such a thin shaft causing instability are quite unfounded. Same goes for the thin shaft being too flexible. The material used definitely works and IMO it's another case of the TK9000 in terms of stiffness. I think this is whippier but at the same time it should be a 4/5 instead of 3/5. But do bear in mind that this is a player version I own and not a commercial on and it is supposedly stiffer than the commercial shelf ones. However experience with victor tells me that that extra touch of stiffness isn't very far off from the normal ones anyway. Shuttle scoopers like me can rejoice and cry at the same time. The orange weight pieces actually fully cover up the strings on that area allowing you to scoop without abandon unlike with the JS10, JS Bao and HX800. But here comes the crying part. The piece adds so much thickness to the frame that scooping a shuttle is neigh impossible with the normal small action. You will either have to make a big scoop to get it up or use the frame at an angle closer to the floor like I usually do with the Bao. Ok enough chat. Enjoy some crappy note 3 pictures I took in a rush Testing will commence on Sunday so initial impressions should land then if I'm not busy gaming or too tired to bother XD P.S. The sweetspot is just like the JS10 and TK9000.
Thank you for review. Can i know balance point? And can u compare tk9900 and tk9000 about head heavy and feeling?
This isn't a review and I can't measure an accurate proper balance point anymore because I have taken off the original grip. It isn't as head heavy in feel as the TK9000 that much I'm certain of. Feel I have to hit shuttles to even know as well.
Bit of extra though. It kinda reminds me of the SW35. Just not as stiff. Feel probably won't match it either m
Don't know what annoys me more - that I couldn't run it without the top cross, or that there are people who can...
The later. They strung it up like a TK9000. But their stringing jobs have never disappointed me before. This is a first but a good job nonetheless.
