Good choice & observations on the Shiden. With the Ryoga series, because of its exquisite quality and superb playability, you can't go wrong. The aggressive discounts for Yonex in this part of the world have converted me to Gosen. I can't help feeling these deep discounts devalue the Yonex brand. And I think those who collect Yonex might even feel betrayed and lose faith in the esteemed Yonex brand. Gosen, however, isn't exactly readily available here in Singapore. A real shame though. I now eagerly await to test the Tenryu.
can the gosen tenbu = arc11?? or bs12?? thinking to get 1... please advice.... and which gen is better?
yeah juz gt a shiden at a very gd discounted price overseas... tested out and its really great for doubles play, fast response but still haf a gd punch for smashes
Hello Kyruszai, Could you please tell me where you buy the shiden with great discounted? Thanks, HoAnG
As of March 2015, Gosen Shiden has been DISCONTINUED Indefinitely in Japan. In CHINA Market, I have heard the 2014 re-colored Generation 3 version of Shiden, Issen, Tenbu, as well as the Limited Edition Tenryu was the last production run!!! There will NOT be a 4th generation Ryoga series racket... Production will cease sometime end of this year, and all the remaining stocks will be mostly sold in these markets: CHINA (Gosen is big in China) Australia North America South East Asian Ever since 2014 July, I have moved to Japan permanently... Since late last year, I could not find a single Ryoga racket for sale in my local badminton shop in Japan, as well as Japanese online store... Since January of 2015, All Japanese online stores lists the Ryoga series as DISCONTINUED!! 売り切れた For all those lovers of Ryoga rackets, NOW IT IS THE TIME TO STOCK UP, before 2016 comes, which will make finding a Ryoga even harder, (unless you live in China) In Mainland China, the prices of Gosen Ryoga rackets are much lower compared to for example the Hong Kong based My Badminton Store. It seems the Chinese market has the most stock of Ryoga rackets.. I purchased my Gosen Ryoga Tenryu in October of 2014 from China Mainland local store for about $150 CDN with BG-66UM strings and Yonex Super Grap included as Free Gift, and the store had a healthy load of Ryoga rackets on display at the shop... Most Shidens, Tenryus, Issens, Tenbus in Mainland China local Badminton Shops are around 700-900 RMB As of August 2015 RMB to USD conversions, that is around $110 USD - $140 USD And that price, strings and labor is INCLUDED...
new Tenryu line I was trying to get some info on the 2.0 customedge line since I've been happily using the type X for two years when I came across with 8 different modifications of the new Gosen Ryoga Tenryu. This is the taobao link: http://world.taobao.com/item/520763434594.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.fCoqEz#detail I've had some experience with the original Tenryu but it broke couple of months ago. It was insanely fast racket with excellent control and placement, but lacking in the power department (though I could hit several consecutive smashes maintaining the same smash power). It will be interesting to try the new Tenryu VIII, which is the head-heaviest according to the info I found.
I found Ryoga Shiden comes in 1st , 2nd and 3rd gen. Anyone can tell does it feel the same or it is just colour different ?
just my opinion, 2nd gen a bit more stiff than 1st gen. dont have 3rd gen. otherwise everything similar. super fast racket and easy to handle.
It's comes in 3 gens. 1st gen = blue 2nd gen = purple 3rd gen = black & gold correct me if i'm wrong ?
guys...wanna ask..tenryu IV....is balance racket right??? was thinking to get that..... as now i have tenbu and issen and beta. and any recommendation where selling cheapest gosen racket?? tq
