Spinfire Automatic Base Clamps

    There was no last time - I've never been able to find a local one.

    (And I have to go 10+ miles into Manchester any time I need a lathe:mad:).

    That doesn't sound like fun :( good thing there was a lab at my University haha or else not sure what I would have done!

    Indeed - this isn't the kind of thing you can do properly on a twenty-quid bench grinder from B&M.

    Put a review and some pics up when it's all sorted, if you can;).

    Yea haha definitely not, the technician tried using a diamond grinder but think it would just dull down the plate, but said he thinks someone will be able to sort it so seeing him on Monday!

    Yea will post up some pics, compare my purple ones to your blue ones :p, the base clamps feel amazing though! Definitely worth the money!

    Back in July this year, I helped a friend install these automatic clamps onto a Yonex crank machine. The rails were thinner than what the clamps required, so there were two options to fix this - make new blocks or just mill the old blocks down to suit. He chose option 2 so I put the blocks onto my milling machine, and milled them down until the base clamps were able to hold properly without slipping.
