Pity Wang Tzu Wei. He fought so hard to win in the qualifying matches to win all his matches yesterday so that he could play today but then.... He lost today. Well I felt so sad for him. :crying: :(

I hope LD wakes up. He is on the verge of losing to Prannoy.

A worse defeat for LD, losing to an unseeded player!

Congratulations to Prannoy for winning the match today. Tough fought match I would say. Anyway I wouldn't want to comment much about Lin Dan loss today. He has done and contributed to the world of badminton already. Age is catching up and it is not so easy for him anymore. Lets give Lin Dan a break.

Marred by controversies towards the end. Earlier at 17-15, HSP's smash was given in by the line judge, no Hawk-Eye to arbitrate. Later at 17-19, Lin Dan's smash was given in, Prannoy protested and the umpire overruled it in his (HSP's) favour despite it being in the opposite far end where he's seated. What the heck.

LD was seeded 3rd and in the 1st round, it would definitely be an unseeded player.

2 smashes by prannoy which was clearly in , was called out. But Prannoy did not deter from his goal and defeated Lindan. Hope he will move far ahead in this tournament.

Yup, age is catching up with him. To lose in the earlier rounds is the norm.

At this age it's a wonder how Lin Dan is giving fight to young and energetic players. He has achieved everything a player can achieve in his successful carrer. He'll always remain a special player the badminton has ever seen. After olympics it'll be a sad that we no longer gonna see hin on court.

As for Prannoy goes, hope he continues this form. He played extremely good badminton today. Hope all the players will utilize the oppurtunity and play to their best in the absence of CL...... lol

mmh is Lin Dan's fire gone?!
We all know what he is capable of but I'm afraid he will have big problems to get out of this hole.
After all it is Olmypic Qualification time!

It is not anymore alone that some of his opponents just play offensive and the match of their life instead he loses so many different players and not only to a rising Axelsen or No.1 Chen Long.
Bad is that it seems to be a mental problem, good is he loses many times not because he doesnt have the capabilities but because he didn't get it together. Rather he loses instead of his opponent wins.

Anyway disappointing as I like watching a inform LD!

I wonder whether a break will do LD any good as it did the last time when he was controversially given the WC wild card.

If continues with his present form, his dream for another Olympic title will be dashed prematurely.
