Landed incorrectly and had to stop, big toenail is blue and suspect it will then go black soon and come off.

Any tips for what to do/recovery time would be much appreciated.

Toenail was too long and was partially flipped?

Best treatment is conservative and just leave the toenail intact, as it will serve to protect it. Trim it every week as it will gradually grow longer, taking 3 months in total to grow a new nail from base to tip.

You may want to put on cushioning bandaid if it hurts on impact with inside of shoe.

Thanks for the advice. It wasn't the toenail length or shoe fit, it was the way I landed, I may as well have kicked a wall as hard as I can, nothing is going to stop that :(

Yeah it'll eventually fall off. Good news is its not painful - unless you are impatient and peel it off!

Mine took 4-5mths or so to grow back!
