I believe I'm close to being an intermediate player. I'm looking for a new racket that costs up to ~$100. I was recommended these by a fellow player:

    Muscle power 29
    Nanoray 10

Muscle power 29 is hard to get and I would have to buy on eBay at double its price. $100 when it costs $50 in India.

I'm looking for speed but also would like to be able to smash.

Well all rackets you are able to smash. What do you prefer playing. Singles or doubles???

Ok but aren't some rackets better at smashing than others? I prefer to play singles, but I play doubles mostly.

Yes there are some rackets better than others. The more money the better quality.

For doubles I would stick with headlight rackets for better responce reaction. This would help more in your game play than head heavy. But even balanced rackets might be suitable for you as well.

My recommendation is go with a balance head racket that will help with the smashes and be suitable for any game.

Is holding a black Fri sale.

If cost is an issue then use badmintonbay.com
They offer college friendly deals with a large variety of rackets.

    Hope this helps

I have recently switched to using an Apacs Ziggler 565, from Yonex VT80. The Apacs is slightly head heavy and works well for smashes. Apacs are sightly less expensive than Yonex but just as playable and powerful.

At your budget, it would be better to buy a top racquet from Apacs or Fleet rather than a second-rung racquet from Yonex.

    Lee Hyun-Il is using Apacs.
