I have tested 66 Fire and Fire Power. Unlike some I really like both the strings and am preferring the Fire POwer. I'm finding it to be a slightly harder string. I find the 66 gauge to be brighter and livelier than 69 but to be honest that is usual for a thinner gauge to feel this way compared to a thicker gauge.

I'm not a fan of ultra thin strings although appreciate the feel and sound differences. There is that desire to have more durability than a 62 or 61 gauge provides even though i string my own rackets. 66 gauge delivers the best qualities for me and that's why I use Zymax Fire 66 gauge in my rackets at all times ... except when I'm testing other strings.

In Europe, all Victor rackets have Zymax string. The top-of-the-range rackets like Jetspeed 10 arrive with Zymax Fire 66 POwer.

Probably Victor Europe distributor has bought the rights to Ashaway in Europe, as it makes sense to combine them.

yes that's correct. Victor Europe are a distributor for Ashaway strings across Europe except UK which is handled by Goode Sports.

Anyone know where I can still get 200m rolls of the standard Zymax 62...???

The new Fire version just does not do it for me and some of the people I string for...feels much softer and less crisp sounding with feather shuttles. Also they are thicker than the previous standard 62 when measured on a micrometer..... Have approached MBS re: when they plan to restock, but they have said Ashaway have put their prices up and not prepared to discount....

Probably because of all the great reviews we have all been giving the Zymax range on this site.. LOL :crying:

Previously at US$75each per 2x200m reel order, it was a real bargain for its performance compared to the YY Bg66UM........ at current prices and currency exchange rates, might have to consider going back to the ol... BG66UM

Both strings are identical in every aspect except control and power. At least on paper.

ZM66F - sacrifices some power for control
ZM66FP - sacrifices control for power

However, the ZM66FP seems to be a dud unless you string it at high tensions: +30lbs.

In addition to what Mikomi said, 66 Fire Power drops tension significantly more than 66 Fire.

Overall, if I have to rate the ZyMax line (because people are asking):

All based on string color: WHITE

    Best Overall Feel: ZyMax 62
    Best Overall Control: ZyMax 62
Best Power (Initially after stringing): ZyMax 66 Fire Power
Best Power (After string sets): ZyMax 65
    Best Durability: ZM69 Fire

Best Overall For Dink: ZyMax 65

How does 66FP compare to NBG98 and 66F compare to BG80?

Currently using Zymax 66 fire power for the first time @12kg. They move a lot. Is it normal?

Have been rocking ZM66FP on jetspeed s10 since last yr. It did perform very well for me!

How is 66FP compared to BG66UM? I am curious. Anyone?
