Jonatan Christie (WR19) is unbeaten in the Group Stage, beating all his 3 opponents:
    Hu Yun (WR14) 22-20, 21-18
    Khosit Phetpradab (WR98) 15-21, 21-8, 21-17
    Ajay Jayaram (WR21) 21-19, 21-17

Anthony Ginting (WR23) also continues his good form in team events, having been unbeaten in the Asian Team Championships 2016 earlier this year (winning 6 matches in total). He has beaten 2 opponents so far:
    Adulrach Namkul (WR201) 21-18, 21-19
    Sai Praneeth B. (WR34)

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa (WR31) also did well in beating the higher-ranked Vincent Wong Wing Ki (WR22) 21-15, 22-20 in his only match thus far. He is now playing against Sourabh Varma in an inconsequential match

The Thomas Cup Finals 2016 is indeed a good tourney for them to gain valuable experience playing in Team Events! They will certainly face more difficult opponents in QF (and hopefully SF) and we shall see whether they can continue their winning form.

japan vs india 2-2 now. Winner ll be decided on doubles. No chance for india. Again 3rd singles and doubles are the main drawback for indian uber cup team.

Not even a fight in the first place. Only 1 tie went to rubber-set & 4-0 to Team INA thus far.

It is unfortunate India chose scratch pairs for their WD against Japan. They won WS1 and 2, so only a WD victory was enough, so the best chance was with Jwala and Ponnapa.
But of course it was difficult to guess the two WS would be victories... But still much more likely then to hope for a point in WD with those scratch pairs

I think the Indian's strategy is brilliant
If they play Jwala/Ponappa, the winning chance against Misaki/Ayaka is not good, H2H 0-2.
Therefore, they scratch the pair and gambling, hopefully the scratch pair can deliver better result...

Shizuka/Mami is not as good as Misaki/Ayaka

Ashwini/Sindhu took the 1st game 21-15 vs Shizuka Matsuo/Mami Naito

India has good chance to take this match and win 3-2 over Japan

What a good strategy to play Ashwini/Sindhu as WD2
