That's great! But I am still upset that only one MS qualified for Rio. I very much expected that it will be 2.
Chit chat all other sports is pretty much dominated by India Olympics.... Feel free to join. Also the India page at Totallympics is a delight
Sure. But my thread was mainly with badminton in mind. Here it is: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/india-at-rio.165358/
Saina Nehwal Olympic Preparation Saina is working hard on her Olympic training. She looks impressive in her 44 second training clip, see below. If she maintains her focus and is mentally strong, Gold is possible! http://www.firstpost.com/sports/exc...and-virat-kohli-esque-aggression-2878612.html Saina Nehwal: "The entire day is spent in different sessions of training with sparring partners in three sessions of five hours in total – two, two and one hour sessions. Then there is full stretching with the physio, good nutritious meals and sound sleep. Then there is also a bit of entertainment on TV before I sleep." Would you guys rationalise saying a 14 yo kid lost to a 18 yr old boy or would you like me say LS must have won??? Can't wait for junior worlds.
He is just 14-15 now...I just realized that he will reach only 18-19 by Tokyo Olympics. I remember when OGQ started sponsoring him they said they are preparing him for Tokyo, he will still be so young then. I want to see him play, sad there are no videos from this tournament.
Lakshya Sen He has a long way to go before he breaks into the senior team. He needs to manage himself well and be careful of injuries. He is making the right moves at the moment. There is too much competition in MS, the 2 who qualify in 2020 will be lucky. Link: http://www.sportskeeda.com/badminton/5-things-junior-shuttler-lakshya-sen
PV Sindhu: "“Right now I am chasing the biggest dream of my life — to win an Olympic medal,” Link: http://www.thehindu.com/sport/other-sports/pvsindhu-on-her-olympics-dream/article8867214.ece Kidambi Srikanth: "Since last month however, I have had a good time to assess my performances and push myself harder in training. I am a lot more confident now.I have been doing the same things I usually do in training, but have been more diligent. I am working across all areas of my game, but endurance and accuracy are my two focus areas. I have been practising the same stroke, the same smash until I get it right. My movement which is an important factor to get the right stroke is another area I need to improve. Everything I do before making contact with the shuttle is interlinked towards getting that perfect stroke." Saina Nehwal Injured during Training, 10 days ago Link: http://indianexpress.com/sports/rio...wal-badminton-india-result-out-score-2975975/ "There was a pain in my knee, so I wasn’t able to play well. It was fat pad inflammation in the right knee. I’ve got a heavy strapping on my knee, and my movement was not good I tried, but I wasn’t able to do it,”
Happy Independence Day Everyone! It's now over to the 'dark horses' PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth to try for a medal. Every round is dangerous. They can either go all the way or lose at any round.
