True, it was 2011, far back when Chen Long was still immature. I dont think he has any problems this time to be honest
only with seeds in their respective groups, could give you a better picture. There could be upsets though.
Perish the thought, Chen Long can well handle on his own all the way to the final. Frankly, I dreaded Lin Dan playing Chen Long in the same half semifinal and risk losing to or stretched to the limit by CL's athleticism and not be in top condition to take on LCW in the final. Now, with Lin Dan playing LCW first in the semifinals, I'm confident Lin Dan can deal with his 'old foe' as his psychological advantage is still quite significant before taking on Chen Long as I believe Lin Dan with his superior skills and greater experience in big matches can make up for any lack in physicality due to age and/or fitness level.
LCW will be having less pressure to meet LD this time since it is a semi rather than a final.... Imo LCW will win OG this time....(Atleast his chances are high after seeing the draw)
Had LCW avoided Lin Dan and/or Chen Long until the final, then I'm sure his confidence and ability can carry him through to the final and enjoy a slight advantage over either Lin Dan or Chen Long for the gold medal match. Of course, everything is assuming there's no upset for all three of the Super Trio by any dark horse(s).
I beg to differ, whether he meets Lin Dan in the Semifinals or Final , or earlier, for that matter, makes not the slightest difference, LCW's problem is not when or which round but who, as long as it's Lin Dan in the major championships.
How come Wang Yihan is shown in the draw as No.2 seed in Group P whereas Intanon R is No.4 in Group L ? Shouldn't it be the reverse ?
Chen Long has to be wary of Son WH and Viktor A though but I should expect to see Chen Long in the final, nothing less.
