That makes sense. I never even thought the crosses needing to go through the same holes. Then again you could put the crosses in before tying the knot, and then tension them afterwards. That would probably completely eliminate knots slipping into the grommet, but it would also probably make tensioning the crosses almost impossible since I doubt the cross string could be pulled through that now blocked hole very easily. Looks like somebody has tried to do a one-piece 50/50. Can't believe I just had to type "one-piece 50/50"...
Just been given this to restring: Missing top cross (also a missing bottom cross but that's fairly common on brave swords), knots in different places on each side of the frame which I find really annoying to look at, and finally it might be hard to see due to the bad photo quality (sorry) but the racket head is quite a bit thinner and longer than when unstrung.
I'd let the "missing" bottom cross slide on a Bravesword - doesn't look right to me with three at the bottom. (And it makes life easier when you're trying to bang them out at a tournament.)
I wouldn't call a crossover a "horror", but that dogturd knot and especially that knot... that isn't a knot? Yup.
I recently received this racket for a restring. All strings have been cut and what's left are pieces of string for where a knot was made. Was quite shocking to see there were 6 knots altogether, A5, A6, A14, B5, C14 and C6. The knot at A5 has completely sunk into the grommet.
Looks like classic patch work that I used to see done to low tension strung rackets. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
