Viktor Axelsen to end year as world number 1 and be world champion? That's a big call. Not that it couldn't happen.
I kind of feel like Chen Long has more to give. He only really played his best in Rio where he was pretty much a level above everyone else. Only went to 3 against Son Wan-ho.
There is absolutely no way in the world denmark wins sudirman cup, they already lost 2/5 matches by default
denmark too weak in ws to win sudirman cup, china will still champs china win 2/5 in wc marin and chen long stay the champs, lcw wont be runner up Momota come back not with good form an unknown star is rising in denmark ws
Okay so here are my guesses: All England - Lin Dan India - Srikanth Malaysia - Chen Long Singapore - Jonatan Christie Indonesia - Jan O Jorgensen Australia - Shi Yuqi WC - Chen Long Korea - Chen Long Japan - Kento Momota Denmark - Viktor Axelsen France - Shi Yuqi China - Lin Dan Hong Kong - Son Wan-ho Dubai - Chen Long Sudirman Cup - Japan
Chen Long back with a bang to win All England, then goes on another bout of inconsistency before winning WC to prove the doubters wrong. Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei retire. Axelson YE#2 and Momota makes a successful comeback. One of China's youngsters Shi Yuqi/Xue Song/Lin Guipu breakout and win a few titles.
What i had in mind was WS and WD but obviously WD is not correct. I'm not sure how but i forgot about rytter-juhl/pedersen and i kept thinking about the 2nd WD pair (which would lose to all top nations)
ugh, it's too soon to guess who will win in dubai. A lot will happen, some rising star and someone get injured
I don't see VA winning the WC. He lacks something, mentally, I don't know how to describe it. JOJ got it, but Viktor not, imo.
ws: tai tzu ying dominates by winning more tournaments than all other ws players. i think she wins at least 5 ss/p + wc. the rest of the pack fight it out for #2: marin, pvs, intanon, yamaguchi, okuhara, sun yu, sung ji hyun. wd: japan and china pairs continue to win the most. korean pairs improve the most. denmark fades. indonesia and malaysia remain non-factors. xd: china pairs dominate, winning the most tournaments. japan inches up towards having 2 elite pairs. i don't expect them to win any ss/p's, but they will be considered a tough win by everyone. target peak year is 2019. consistent semi-final showings would put them ahead of schedule. denmark fades. md: no clear dominating pair emerges. the competition is so close at the top. very exciting. boe/mogensen fade. ms: i don't see one player dominating but i pick axelsen to finish at #1 due to consistent high finishes. sudirman cup: japan.
Well sudirman cup is a no brainer CHN will take back the trophy home. LCW dumped all ur predictions in AE, The same gonna happen in IND, as they aren't playing. Predicting after the draws is somewhat acceptable by predicting the entire calendar year is just waste of time.
Okay, now he got it. Got to give it to him. But he was a little lucky that LD made mistakes at the end of the first set, very uncharacteristic of LD.
