I am sorry to disappoint you. That will happen to all strings. All strings will eventually lose tension if you do not play with them that long especially with thin strings. BG66 Ultimax should lose tension more than BG66 because it is thinner.
Can i go beyond 28Lbs with BG66UM? i'm used to 28Lbs with BG98, BG99, BG80P, BG66 and recently tried BG66UM and loved it feels. my stringer DID NOT want to go beyond 26lbs with BG66UM, saying that the string itself would break easily during the stringing process. BUT knowing that BG66UM tension would drop after few sessions, i really want the tension to be 28lbs.. or 30lbs if possible as the control produced with this tension is just great!
Hello Yes you can go beyond the 28lbs, I went further to 31 lbs and the string didnt break during the process. I also strung bg66um many times at 29 lbs and 30 lbs, no problem.
Guyz....pls recommend d appropriate tension for stringing bg66um...I'm a regular smasher and a very aggressive player..... And pls recommend how long it will last(2 to 3 days a week and 2 to 3 hours a day).... Pls help
Hey, It's been four years and I still am using BG66 UM. Lol. That aside, i would recommend 27lbs for BG66UM. I found that if the string is slightly low tension you lose control a bit too. I don't like that esp in doubles as good players move to position quickly and placement is limited. However, you can test it out yourself if the tension is right for you. Just hit the shuttle and make sure it lands to the mid of rear baselines. If not, you can lower the tension a bit.
I suggest you try it out first. IMO, it's the best string in holding tensions and durable one out there. Which is important for me since i can't spend alot. Lol. You can also try NBG 98 which i think is better for smashing but it tends to lose tension after a few weeks.
And pls re comment on d durability of d string if strung at 22 to 23lbs...will it atleast last for 4 to 6 months?? I play 2 to 3 days a week and 2 to 3 hours a day....pls help
