    Agreed. Don't forget imploded heads.

Ouch, looks like a tiny bomb went off inside that shaft.
    Sorry for your loss mate!

DuckFeet might be onto something here. We all know about the rather big variances in spec for the same type of racket which for itself speaks for a loose production process. Maybe now they have reached a level on which it finally affects the stability of the racket. Not very comforting. Although I got the feeling that the JS12's were the most consistent ones from the Victor range yet. At least based on the measured specs that were shared in here.

My JS10's are doing very well so far and have survived a couple of clashes with minor paint scars only. No sinking grommets either.

The 10s don't have a sinking grommet problem unless you get a 4U that's like 81g. The 12s all do though.

I just received the after market grommets for the 12 in the mail. Gonna be putting on a new set of strings along with the new grommets to see if it helps with the sinking problem

The 3U I have here to try has had a few restrings, no sign of grommets sinking on it so far.

What are the after market grommets?

It looks to be something like VTZF2 continuous grommet strips. I'll post a pic in a moment

The one on the left is for the top of the frame while the other is for the bottom

Frankly the grommets that victor uses now are completely fine. It's the frame that sinks from the tension.

Supposedly they're from Taiwan. I'll be trying to see if they fit over the next couple of days or so. My rackets aren't with me at the moment

Those look very much like yonex grommets.

Got a 4U JS12 few months back, it broke while it is still in the shop during the first string. Thought that the stringer mistake at first then suspect I'm the unlucky one who got the bad sample. Luckily got a full refund from the shop. I'm now hesitate to buy another Victor.

The grommets for the bottom part of the racket are Yonex AC416 L1-2-4. Unsure about the ones that go in the top

Isn't that plain and simple the standard Yonex ZFII replacement set? Looks a lot like it. I tried the same strips on a JS10 and they didn't fit.

But anyway, I would so much enjoy if there were generic grommet strips available for different rackets. They hold up so damn well without stressing the grommet holes on higher tensions and they make threading the single pass grommets at the top really easy.

If it is just a plain simple set of ZF2 grommets then lucky me hahaha. I also have a ZF2 so that would be one less thing to pay for when restringing that racket. I'll be trying to see if they fit the 12 tomorrow after my game. It requires a restring anyway so it would be worth a shot

I recently got my shipment of ZF2 grommet strips from MBS and I have a 4UG5 JS12. The grommet strips don't fit for me, as the holes drilled in my racket are slightly different than the strips. I could cut up the strips and modify them to fit but it'd ruin the clean look and my ocd with bother me to no end. Just thought I'd share my findings.

For people who have used both JS 12 and JS 10, are either suited well to singles or are they more for doubles? I'm tempted.

I'd be using 4U. My play style is aggressive, but not overly so - I like to mix it up, control is important. I'm used to fast rackets (previously used various rackets from the Yonex Nanoray and Carlton Kinesis ranges). I have a tendency towards stiff and head heavy.

Just asking because a lot of the comments throughout this thread seem to be based around doubles performance but I'm purely singles.

Doubles. First and foremost we play doubles because not all of us can dive, and its much more economical.

Plus if you take a look around the pro circuit you should be able to get an idea about what discipline this racquet feels most at home with. Doubles. The closest I can remember off my head is Iskandar with JS7, but he's nowhere near the top anyways.
