They have 2x colours for this bad boy, it's not for the hard hitters. Hopefully this time around the frame is more sturdy and won't crack just by stringing them ... my FB only lasted 3 months, before they all broke
I managed to lay my hands on the matt green F (aka 6u) variant. General impression is that it feels more solid than the ARCFB, without the associated 'hollowness' per se. I must say that it does feel like the VTIF over my 3 hours of doubles session. I had it strung with BG68Ti at 25 lbs and did not like the string at all; it felt mushy and did not allow me the opportunity to fully appreciate the VTFB. Will be restringing it to Li Ning No. 1 at 25lbs and will see how it goes from there. I had previously owned 07 ARC FB, broke 04 and had kept the remaining 03 in storage since then. The VTFB is easier to tame (read: swing + timing adjustment) when being wielded for the first time viz the ARC FB which was quite the PITA during the initial phases, but an absolute bundle of joy to use, IF it does not live up to its infamous 'Fast Break" moniker. I play mostly doubles with emphasis on defence, drop shots, netting and flat punches over smashing. Imho, this is not a racket for heavy smashers despite the 'Voltric' moniker; the VT FB definitely feels more robust than the ARC FB but it is not a VT ZF in that sense. Funny thing is, for someone that does not smash alot, it does seem to cajole me into it...Time will tell if its placebo effect at work here. Will post more updates after a few more sessions...hopefully them Li Ning strings are as good as my stringer claim it to be...
I would think so too. Had a 3 hour session yesterday with the Li Ning #1 string. Strangely, it does feel like the Zymax 65, which ain't a bad thing. I think I finally understand what the rest of the forummers are talking about; a perfect hit on the sweet spot is absolutely orgasmic; a mishit and it's like totally bleah. I'm starting to like this racket more and more. The feel is right, the Colour scheme is nice, and I might just succumb to being the sucker that I am and get the blue variant...
I just saw this new shiny thing in store today. From dry swinging the frame, it is definitely light as a feather but extremely head heavy. It seems like Yonex kept the swing weight of like a voltric 70 etune and lightened the shaft and handle. I'm not sure this is a good thing because I find racquets difficult to control when the balance is too head heavy, and my favorite racquet is a ZF2 3U.
My testing of this racket lasted barely 5mins.... Verdict is it is extremely light, be it head light or the overall weight. Can't feel where the racket head is while doing overhead clears, smashes or drops. Plus for some reason I had the feeling whereby my shoulder is going to dislocate. My main rackets is the TC700, zf2 LCW n the gosen Beta.
This is definitely not for heavy smashers accustomed to 3U/4U rackets. First time users may find it weird as the swing speed requires adjustment to the timing; results may differ from player to player. Here's a photo of the 2 colour variants, both strung with Li Ning #1 string at 24lbs.
It adds head weight btw. More than you think. Once had a frame with 5x of those on the head and it became a complete different animal. Unusuable.
