Apparently Chen Long wants to avoid playing his archrivals, LCW and Lin Dan, as much as possible before the major championships to keep them in suspense, akin to playing his cards close to his chest, but I'm concerned it may backfire on him if he doesn't at least play them a couple of times to better gauge their strengths and know in his heart where he stands vis-a-vis them in tournament conditions. In my humble opinion, theory and practice have to go together, test your theory in practice and derive your theory from it, the two cannot be divorced.
He's LYB's favourite now, esp after the Rio Olympic triumph. Yeah, maybe LYB is beginning to indulge him and spoil him as you said. The problem is Chen Long has choked several times in team majors, he needs to put his mental toughness to the test and strengthen, and what better way to do so than to play his most formidable opponents under adverse conditions, eg at the MAS Open in LCW's homeground with the crowd cheering against him and LCW at his best ? True, Lin Dan doesn't need it, he's proven himself without a shadow of a doubt as his accomplishments have shown that he can handle anc come out on top whenever required, but the same cannot be said for Chen Long despite his double WC and single OG albeit at LCW's expense. IMHO, Chen Long still has things to learn from both Lin Dan and LCW, and the only way for him to do so is to play them more often in tournaments, such as how to deal with difficult opponents, break their rhythm, read the opponent's game and anticipate better. Hope he realizes that, still not too late.
Really great theory how all mighty dragon Chen Long want to avoid LCW and LD by losing to lesser opponent in AE and German Open. He should be called all avoiding dragon.
SWH showed his class in g2. AJ's run come to an end. Worst tourney for the IND contingent this year. See ya guys in Sin SS
Matsutomo/Takahashi really doesn't want to lose early again like All England. Gotta hold that ranking high I suppose.
Matsutomo still hasn't fixed that terrible low serve! nearly 10 service mistakes -_- Even takahashi is starting to struggle now. They still got through though but they make their matches so much more difficult than needed... Very frustrating to watch (same as Chan and Adcock) Glad they took revenge though
Sorry for out of topic, I lost my badminton YouTube channel suddenly, may be you have iany idea I really appreciate it http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...-badmintalk-badminton-youtube-channel.170670/
Yeah yeah this dragon likes to show off its teeth, fire and spreads its big wings but does nothing to its prey, probably is just watching from afar.
Tai Tzu Ying already showing her superb skills and superiority at the net. Never ceases to amaze me :!! That backhand :O
