    INA is in the group of death (1D) with Denmark and India. Like the last recent Thomas Cup final, INA has to face Denmark but this time early in the group.

    INA MS both, TS and Ginting lost to Japanese, Nishimoto and Ueda. This spells trouble if they meet JPN in Sudirman Cup,

    Who cares about Tommy, idk why PBSI still be bothered to have him for the SC. It's time to hand over the baton to the 'trio' don't you think so?
    We may not win the cup this year but theres always next time.

    My predictions: Group champion Indonesia and Runner-up Denmark

    Indonesia 3 vs Denmark 2
    XD = INA
    MS = DEN
    MD = INA (close fight, hope Gideon recover from injury before this tournament)
    WD = DEN
    WS = Decider (winner take all, personally I think INA will win)

    Indonesia 3 vs India 2
    XD = INA
    MS = IND
    MD = INA
    WD = INA
    WS = IND

    Denmark 4 vs India 1
    XD = DEN
    MS = DEN
    MD = DEN
    WD = DEN
    WS = IND

    Is there already Map to show whom they will face in quarterfinal? I think their best chance is to meet country from Group B (whether its korea or chinese taipei). In any case, whomever they meet they have to either win 3-2 or lost the ties (such is the weakness in WS and WD) and dont feel like their WD is stronger than India WD.

    Butet and Ni Ketut still have knee injuries, so they're excluded.

    Very weak line up, INA's team on their lowest moment. Anything beyond QF is miracle. Or even worse they might not survive group stage

    Yes. And only semifinal target. PBSI is such a joke. And nowadays even bigger joke. Politic ambition ruined the sports body

    Sirnas Jakarta is missing this week and no newspaper report anything.

    Even the media is such a joke. Just take blatantly whatever someone said anything and print. No good investigative journalism

    What are the chances that Jojo can beat Victor/Jan and Ginting beat Jan/HKV... Jojo/Ginting only can have slightest chance against HKV.

    What are the chances that any of WS can match up with Line Kjærsfeldt of Denmark?

    In team event, sometimes it is time when the underdogs shine.

    So there is no need to analyse the ranking. The pressure sometimes can be too much for the higher ranked players to deliver point and the lower ranked players, if they can capitalise on that can deliver surprise. Just look at 1998 Indonesia Thomas Cup or the only time Korea won Uber Cup

    That is why I said SF target is a joke. In the past, long long time ago, it is always you send the best available players(those that are fully fit), you prepare them well and they do their best and target is champion. Even if they lose, at least they have been prepared in the best way and tried

    Now, it seems that Sudirman Cup is just another tournament. No special preparation, just set target based on current ranking

    INA must earn pts from XD, MD, WD vs. India for sure. They however need to steal one from WS to beat DEN for sure.

    Seems like they won't even get past the group stage, is this the first time ever?

    They had the worst luck really, with 3 key players (butet, nitya and praveen?) injured and unfavorable draw. Oh well.

    No need to blame the injured players. Even with all the players, what can they reach, QF or SF. With the way the players are playing, there does not seem to be any special preparation for the competition.

    The officials does not have good strategy too. Usually, the team has good insight on opponent players

    Not blaming anybody, just pointing out the fact. At least they wouldn't drop to a new low this year.

    Nevertheless, I hope this failure will bring the media's attention. PBSI will have to start realizing that occasional big win doesn't imply success for the whole organization.

    It is a very shameful situation indeed not being able to pass even the group stage :/
    But one consolation for me is that this was quite highly covered by the media so the PBSI should take notice of how serious the situation is.
    (and imagine the smug face of Wiranto if they ever reach the semifinal or final of Sudirman Cup so in a way I am quite grateful of this)

    Is there no official briefing or retrospective from PBSI to take the good, improve on the miscalculated steps and get rid of the non-productive? I heard only the chef de mission, Achmad Budiharto and Susi Susanti personally through the media apologized to the public.
