Use Zhangyu TV link, @Loh posted it in the other Board INA thread with the poster. They got all courts, fluent, high definition and in fact different cameras for Court 2
As expected, Jin Wei lost. Honestly, I don't think she compete at Super Series tournaments with the same old style, no improvement and such.
After the disappointment at the Sudirman Cup Lu Kai/ Huang has coasted to victory over the Thai pairing of Amitrapai/ Isara in three sets. I have always found Lu Kai/Huang to have good court manners.
They are pushing her through the system too fast-- I understand she's the best MAS WS when it comes to national team competitions.... but when it comes to the professional circuit, they should have started her from the Grand Prix Gold events.
"Coasted"? More like struggled through 3 games under heavy pressure-- the THA XD definitely had the techniques and tactics to beat them, just not the endurance/ consistency...
It is not BAM's decision. Jin Wei herself said that she doesn't want to join Junior/Grand Prix level tournaments. Instead, she want to focus more on Super Series. Instead, she should be polishing her shots so it would not be be so wild.
I am happy to see Chan Peng Soon doing well. It has been a long time since he joined any tournament due to Liu Ying's injury.
So many defeats can be quite demoralising. You need a run of matches to get into a good match rhythm. Does not seem unreasonable to step down a level. What is the rush?
I think previously Chen Jin changed her game too much and she simply followed instructions which didn't work out very well for her. I'd think it's best for her to go back to being herself again, a thinking, deceptive player who is always reading her opponent's game and creating opportunities by constructing the rallies before going on the offensive, often by sudden injection of pace and unexpected shots. Now that CJ has just left and a new coach taken over, she'd need a bit of time to restore her original strengths, minimise her weaknesses, tweak her game somewhat to improve on it, and, more importantly, improve her fitness and stamina. I really hope she can find her former self, the time when she won three titles in two months, two of them SS level, and continue to develop her game from there based on her natural inclinations instead trying too much to be what she's not. If I may make bold to say that's what I hope her new coach should let her become.
