Endurance?? I think endurance is actually one of the most important qualities and no one has mentioned that. Lin Dan doesn't seem to be tired when he plays.
It's weird according to this list, that the best players are/were not the most complete...and vice versa.
Taufik is maybe the most talented player ever born. He probably doesn't train as much as the others. He was world number one at 17. His shots are beautiful.. his back hand out of this world. Taufik has the best technically precise shots and smoothest footwork on the circuit right now. He was born to play badminton.
For Endurance, M. Frost was probably one of the best. His backhand was amazing (and one of the reasons I trained mine so much). I agree that Yang Yang was probably the most complete player, though I MUST give tip of the hat to Lim Swie King. He changed the game to alevel which ( i feel) Yang Yang was to eventually surpass.
I've heard that M Frost would do like twenty sets of danes after each practice... thats why his fitness was out of this world.
Are u saying he is the most complete player? I still say that his footwork is no where near the best at the moment. Players from china like Xia Xuanze and Chen Hong have far more smoother and more efficient footwork. However, I do agree tha taufik is the most talented player in terms of stroke and touch. Perhapes there are two different talents out there, ones with good footwork and ones with good strokes.
there were many articles of how taufik and sigit budiarto wasn't disciplined during training, and they were supposed to not train as hard as others (ie candra, tony both said sigit and taufik were much more talented than they are, but candra and tony practice harder which is how they became so successful). Sigh, why is it that gifted and talented ppl are teh ones who are so cocky and wild?
sigh, yea, well, at least they arent untalented and ungifted players who are cocky and wild and the fact that theyre wild sometimes brings excitement

Did he order a lot of strong danish players to additionally beat them up after practice to stay fit? I could not google anything referring to "danes" in relation to exercise - Pls explain... This thread doesn`t help: (I just don't understand Danes... ) http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/search.php?searchid=240728
by the way ... http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13864 The three "S" of a complete badminton player ... it might be useful in trying to convince other's of why you chose the athlete
Then i would go with the posters electing wong chong han. Strokes: perfect, esp. overhead, stamina: very good, great speed, too, strategy: ? (i think hendrawan was a great strategist..)
danes are an excersice which you start in the middle of a badminton court. You then lunge to each sideline back and forth in some repition of five. lets say 20 for example, when you've completed the lunges return to the middle position and complement your completed number of lunges with full extension squat jumps, knees bent as low as you acn then explode jumping as high as you can. Then proceed to do 15 more lunges, 15 more squat jumps, 10 lunges/squat jumps, 5 more each. This really really makes your legs burn at first, the jumps more so that the lunges.
