So now we see LCW early exit from World Championships. No Malaysian into quarterfinals.

The task for BAM and the new coaching structure is huge. Even small HK has more people in quarterfinal compared to Malaysia.

BAM started new coaching structure on this July while HK already started years ago, even HK has our badminton legend Choong Tan Fook in their coaching team...

meanwhile the Indonesia has their old coaches maintain such as Christian Hartinata and Rexy Mainaky who very famous in coaching mens double and make tons of world champions and Olympic gold medals...

and then there goes to China MD getting stronger once Zhang Jun took over MD coach...

Japan having Park Joo Bong as head coach and make every Japanese players strong since then...

As far as I know, Christian Hadinata doesn't coaching Indonesian National Team. Currently he is in Djarum Kudus Badminton Club located in Central Java.

And Rexy Mainaky wasn't a coach in Indonesian National Team. He was one of the structural level as Binpres (Talent & Achievement Departement), and now that position replaced by Susi Susanti (which is still have no coaching function at all). This reason is behind Rexy Mainaky goes to THA.

IMO, not all badminton legends have coaching capacity as well as not all smart student could be a teacher/lecturer. The one who knows about badminton education and badminton coaching experiences deserved to be a badminton coach.

me & several friends went for a badminton session at challenger pj this morning, and to our surprise, we have had soo teck zhi having training just next to our court

out of curiosity, one of my friend approached his father to ask why he need extra training on Sunday when he is already training everyday. the answer is surprising. his father said back-up players do not have enough training for themselves, what they do most of the time in bam is to train lcw. so they have to look for alternative outside bam to keep up

    hmm.. ponder yourself

When the clash with MF happened, I was trounced by many folks because of saying the way LCW is treated in BAM is not helping the new generation

All other countries are moving in the right direction except BAM is moving backwards. Soon Malaysia players can't even pass round 16.

Apparently because there is the Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS)
that supplied young talent to nation squad.
Talents like Lee Zii Jia, Leong Jun Hao, Lim Chong Kim, Toh Ee Wei.

I think the objective for BAM must be to train home citizen. This goal must have priority over winning medals with the help of foreign players. The use of foreign players is good for countries where there is no badminton tradition, so the technical and professional background of foreign players can help foster attention and education for local people. This is certainly not the case in Malaysia!

I think non citizens to be recruited for playing and gaining honours for the country has its benefits so long as you don't lose sight of the overall picture. I see it as no different to non-professional sportsmen (i.e. Office workers) who are sent overseas by their firms to head a unit, change the staffing mix etc.

If one was too insular and not open minded, you risk getting left behind while others progress.

 how can u compare business with sports?
sporting achievement is for national pride, and it brings the citizens of the country together.
small countries with no sporting pedigree like singapore has no choice but to rely on imports as a start.

    Cost benefit.

I note you are quite critical of Malaysia's olympic medallists so perhaps it beings citizens together in a negative way rather than positive.

Well, that's the cancer in malaysian sports. just a little bit of of achievement and the rewards come pouring down.
instead of making the sportsman achieve more, their dedication and motivation drops.
so many examples hafiz hashim, kkk-tbh, rashid, etc.
