Hi all, just a quick question I’m thinking of buying an astrox 77 I play doubles both front and back player as well as occasional singles but I’m not sure weather to buy 3u or 4u could I get some advice on which to buy. Thanks
It is just quality variations. You could ask your shop to weigh them and also try out a few rackets to choose the one that suits you
Depends on the balance point preference and weight of your previous racket. I came from a 4U Nanoray-Glanz and Imo I shouldve gotten the 3U as I managed the 4U pretty well. Im not sure but its not as head-heavy as I thought it to be.

I'm assuming the horizontal line is stiffness? Someone somewhere else mentioned the Astrox 77 was the stiffest in his collection, which included a JS12. Would you agree with that opinion or is this a case that the extra head weight of the A77 makes it easier to use, even if it is stiffer?
I disagree to an extent. I've seen his post and can't agree honestly. Yes it is relatively stiff for its stiffness rating. But if you get the head up to sufficient speed it will bend like the rating states. In its own way, with the new tech and material for the shaft, it is like what victor did with their shafts by adding pyrofil. They seem stiffer because they reset faster. As for that said user's feeling of it being the stiffest of his entire collection, to me it's just a case of either A: His AX77 is too heavy (overall weight) for him to actually bring the head speed up to standard to whip the shaft, or B: he's too used to frames with excellent aerodynamics and cannot adapt. Everything in his collection so far doesn't have a box frame. I find it plays a bit stiffer than the JS12, but that's the difference between having to move a less aerodynamic frame through the air. Otherwise playing stiffness I'd actually call it on par with the ARC11 at least in situations where you'll never fully flex the shaft e.g. drives and defence. That's a good bit of information and fits in with my way of thinking as well. Guess I should not be shy and start bringing my weighing scales to the badminton shops .
I agree with Ch1K0, i am using currently a 4U 77 and do not find it stiff at all. My JS10 feels much stiffer. Some might say that is because the JS10 head is not as heavy as the 77's, but i also find my K9900 much stiffer too, and that is the head heaviest racket i own. Ch1KO comment about resetting faster is spot on, its hard to describe but i can feel it when i am playing. Hence why this racket is heavily awarded for its drives and quick reflex smashes.

I can't answer that.. I dislike the Z Speed to such a degree that I wouldn't touch it with a even 1 pence. Plus the last I ever tried one was 2013..so I can't really compare D= Buy a BS12. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
