Hey everyone, its been a while since I posted.....

To all Fu Hai Feng fans out there, I am trying to ID this match:

    Questions I have are:
    -was this the N9 or N9ii ?
-what sort of string and tension does FHF use / what is his typical choice ? (I'm guessing its Li Ning #5 @ 30 something? )
-bonus points for anyone able to identify the year / match / event :D

    Thanks in advance

Because the time catch was a bit slow and started with him wiping his sweat off his face, so I'll give you both.

    2011 WC MD Finals.
    On F9.

    2014 Denmark Open MD Finals.
N9 first gen. String no idea. I'll even give you the one for the nice camera angle used, screw the official stream heh.

    Can't give names cos I don't remember them. But mostly still see N50s with the girls. A few N55II, N7, N7II, N50II, N99.

Hmm, no one using N9ii? I am considering that racket instead of Astrox 77, because you said they are really alike :)

Not that I've managed to see so far. I've seen a couple of indonesians using that though.

You can't possibly base your racket choice solely on what professional players use can you?

lol no, i have researched through many rackets and found several that I am interested on. However, if many professionals use them, it just makes me more comfortable lol

Iirc Setiawan used it before he got his signature N7II. I can't recall the other Indonesian.

That's a bad way to get comfort in racket choice btw. Unless your primary concern is monetary return.

Yea, I'm aware of that. I know my preference (HH, stiffness, etc.), but the thing is I don't have any access to try badminton rackets (with string of course), while I feel dry swing doesn't provide me an accurate feeling of the racket. Hence, my inputs for racket selection are coming from people's reviews and forum like this :).

Or do you have any suggestion on how do people usually decide on buying their racket? Thanks

Frankly. If you can't try it. Then it's always going to be a leap of faith. The only way is to find something that fits your preferences on paper and then give it a whirl.

Have you seen any many N55 iii's around?

Recently, I learned that Cai Yun mentioned that these player racquets are all custom versions. It bothers me a little - of not knowing what sort of a specification Fu Hai Feng's racquet is and I can only wonder / speculate that it might be close to a N55 iii's balance but with N90 i stiffness :D

You can buy some of those custom Chinese player rackets on e1981. Stumbled on them and asked myself why a 8 year old racket would cost $300, then I noticed it.

Thank you for sharing this, definitely something worth looking into; I wonder if any fellow bcentraler's have tested or verified these. It would be rather dreadful if say they turned out as used player racquets or fakes.

I doubt they are fake or used, just very expensive. Probably a lot stiffer than the commercial ones.
