Has anybody heard anything/ used a astrox 7? Thinking about buying one, but pretty unsure about its handling. The VT7NEO or AS6FL seem like a safer bet right now.
I was wondering about this racket too. It seems like a very simple racket with only the new balance of Yonex. Is it out yet?
anybody compared the astrox 7 to the 77? looking at the specs online it seems theres not much if any difference other than the price?
ah ok, knew there would be something that separates the two but wasn't sure what from looking at the online descriptions..
http://www.yonex.com/products/badminton/racquets/astrox-series/astrox-7 Made in taiwan though, suggests that its a mid range racket. Not necessarily a bad thing, I liked the VT7 which is also made in Taiwan.
yes the vt7 is my current racket that im looking to replace after a good few years using it, astrox 7 looks like its the obvious like for like replacement with the 77 being a better version of that i guess.
Is the astrox series not head heavy like the voltrics?? Actually i had a hit with an arcsaber 6fl tonight.. quite liked it to be honest but i did find it odd that it had the same balance point as my vt7? About 305mm.. but, and im not sure why, it did feel a little heavier in the hand despite both rackets being 4u and weighing 91grams exactly each..
No they are evenly balanced... And a new technology is used Rotational Generator system... Which makes the racquet counter balanced and they say the weight is equally distributed throughout the racquet...!!
Ah ok.. on tennisnuts.com its listed as head heavy and central sports as head balance so i assumed thte astrox range would be a follow on of the voltrics with the duora being the new even balance range after arcsaber.
Balance Points r not an accurate way to judge how a racket plays. New technologies+materials complicate matters. ARC6FL 'feels' heavier than VT7 means it should hv a more powerful frame, heavier to swing.
I hv an 6yr old Astec Pro800, 3U bp 286, swings as heavy as a Voltric DG7 3U, bp 300+. Expensive hi-end singles rackets tend to be very heavy to swing, due to powerful+stable frames.
My coach recently brought in Astrox 7 and he quite liked it! It's balance is really nice and feels solid! However even balanced but its easier to smash steeper with it! The only thing i disliked is the frame head size, i feel its lil big! ... But thats because maybe I like the compact frames more!
Got an Astrox 6 instead of astrox 7. The only difference I observed was 7's shaft is very slightly softer than 6. The weight and dry swing feels the same. Cannot comment about hitting feel yet for 7. Dry weight is at 84 to 85gms. That's including handle plastic wrap. After removal of plastic wrap, it weighed 83.5gms After removal of rubber grip, 76gms. Will post update after i get to play with AS6. Ps. This is meant to compare AS6 to AS7. To those with AS7, pls post your review. Sent from my SM-G9350 using Tapatalk
