Recently I tested Tachyon 9.6 and was not satisfied with almost everything. Probably my worst experience with Mizuno's racket. I just returned from my holidays so I hope next week I could share my opinion about Fortius Tour 4U.
I simply could not enjoy playing with Tachyon 9.6. All stroke feels unpleasant. I have an habit to hit my palm just to hear how the strings sound and i could tell it doesn't have a familiar sound of 66 Force. This is just my method to indicate something good or bad about the racket performance.
I have to cancel the delivery of my fortius tour. It turns out the weigh is only 82gr dry. I will wait for 3U version.
They did what they can do. The racket has to be sent back to the manufacturer overseas for assessment. Thus, it took so long. I would say Gala Sports is helpful when they assist on this matter.
Why there is no presence of Mizuno in India, the country which has seen a rapid rise in badminton over last 5 years and having maximum number of people playing /adapting badminton, perhaps second only to China? Any plans?
Actually Mizuno is in India and also in most of asia countries. They just not supplying badminton products. Some badminton shops here have to import Mizuno rackets from Singapore or Hongkong.
So i found a piece of fairly decent price of Mizuno racket which is a 3ug5 Jpx 8.1(old color) recently and this is my first Mizuno racket. What makes me wanna try Mizuno racket is the design really good and attractive enough compare to Adidas or Gosen. I wont compare it with my Astrox77 as they are both having a totally different specs. I strung it with my usual setup BG80 28lbs and exactly the same gripping style as my go-to racket (Astrox77). So dry swing with it after all the setup has done it felt quite light, only some head weight somewhere slightly more towards to even balance. The stiffness I would rate is as quite flexible as i can bend the shaft down quite easily. My personal feeling and score for first session of this racket. YMMV. Smash/Power - 7.5/10, I found it hard to generate power from this racket, but should be normal because it is not a head heavy racket Drive/Push - 8.5/10, Good thing about this racket is agile enough to drive and push shuttle faster. Drop/Placing - 8/10, Nothing really excel here, with my usual setup and slightly high tension with hard feeling string is easier for me to do drop shots. Net/Tap - 8.5/10, Good at net, easy to tap without too much head weight. Defend - 8.5/10, Good maneuverability, the racket weight make it just nice to defend smashes. Baseline Clear - 6.5/10, This is where the lacking or weakness of this racket i must say. Personally i felt there is some amount of vibration when doing hard clearing from back court, the harder I punch to clear shuttle, the more vibration i felt in the racket head. Lastly, will give more time to this racket to know whether is it a keeper for me as I prefer it to be stiffer and more head weight. Or maybe I should get the highly recommended Jpx Ltd because the specs seems more promising and more solid/meaty. Cheers.
If you need an extra effort for a clear shot, usually the smash one also not good. Any specific reason why you bought JPX 8.1 instead a new one like 8.5 or LTD?
Ah okay the price is good then so you decided to get one. As for me, i dont recommend the following rackets: - any JPX rackets except 8.5 and LTD - tachyon 9.6 - caliber reg
Booo.... I'm in progress waiting for the Tachyon 9.6 I get used to play with 9.7 (BG66) for heavy duty and 9.5 (66Force) for playmaker position. Honestly hoping 9.6 will impressed me a lot with its Medium Stiffness, 86 gr in weight, 290 balance. Btw, the 9.6 colouring is also another attractiveness at the same time price also may become the realistic reason. Any idea, please?
I was thinking the same. I like the specs and nice looking racket but I really couldn't feel anything good from it. Perhaps it is just me.
