Got some from a DIY superstore. Removed the plastic inlay and slide the on. The work, but I'm a bit afrid when I'm tightening my side supports. they get squeezed and I need for the move the side supports, but the feeling of tightening is very strange to get the real contact. My @DinkAlot or @DarthHowie have some hints or advices for me.
The attached photos show the tubing on the Michal supports. You will notice these are the old style and not with plastic insert. You should leave the plastic insert on and put the tubing over it so that the racket won't move when tightened. Hope this helps. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Not sure what tubing you guys are using but there's no absolutely no need for the plastic with the poly tubing I am using. It holds the racket perfectly; if tightened correctly, there will be zero movement and zero problems. @ucantseeme: just tightened your side supports to what you feel is secure and try to physically move the racket and see if there's any play. If there is, tighten a bit more until the slack is gone. String the racket and see how it feels, make minor adjustments if needed on the next string job.
The Michal supports are not the same. On mine (relatively new) there's a little track in the inside curve of the support, I guess to keep the white plastic locked in place. Problem is, if the white plastic is removed, that when you do a pull, where the string rubs the sidesupport, it will sort of be rubbing a semi rough edge of metal. I've damaged a string like this, and though it didn't snap, I choose to redo the job. So leaving the white plastic in, when you add the tubing, makes sense to me, since it will isolate the inner curve of the support, from rubbing the string...
The tubing covers all of the area where the plastic was. Additionally, I have my side supports set where the string won't rub against anything.
In an earlier post a page or two back this tubing was originally transparent. Don't know why it turns green after a couple of years. Not a big deal. The important thing is that it covers the surface that contacts the racket. There should be no racket movement once it is mounted and secured with this tubing. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Morning all. I recently purchased a new Yonex ST-7000 stringing machine. The electronics were very good, but I was disappointed with the poor quality of the tools supplied, which have rough edges that would chafe the strings if used, the plastic head bridge combs were sharp and not well made, but it was the side clamps which caused the most issues. They are like the pros pro ones with a plastic adapter which fits over the top to convert from tennis to badminton, were very thick covering almost two grommets and no depth to enable access to getting the strings in. It was on one of these forums where I saw that Michal Chudek (michal.chudek@gmail.com) would make new ones for me which would alleviate the issues I had with the Yonex ones. Despite being unfamiliar with the machine, Michal was able to make me a complete set using measurements I sent him via email. the complete set of 4 only cost me £30 (including postage), they fit like a glove and have made such a difference to using the machine. Best £30 I've spent!
@Ken. Thanks for sharing. It's really nice to read such nice of words. BTW. Yonex ST-7000 has the same side supports as Premium Stinger 3800 (Discho), the same pattern.
Some of the users asking about side supports. Yes, I'm still in business. Some regular products (old project), some newer. Like this-SuperStringer s90.
Sorry, I thought about https://www.tennisman.de/Weiteres/B...e-SUPERSTRINGER-S70-Badminton-electronic.html Yes, it looks like the same version as SS s90
Bought Chudek supports, but I can't get them to sit tight at all. (Premium Stringer 3600) They're so loose, I can undo the bolt underneath by applying light pressure to the support. Any solutions? I tried switching to the thumb screws on the normal supports too. I set them up the same as the default supports, with the washer on top.
Add a washer on the bottom as well? Mine were slightly low and the bolt was slightly too long too, I added one washer for height and it was fine.
