Hey quick question, Hesitating on 3u 88S or 4U 88S but I’m wondering if it’s head heavy enough to justify going 4U. I’m thinking 3U cause an arc11 was 3U and was fast enough but it was super even balance. According to the graphic, the 88S still is pretty head heavy. To me they seem so close to where rackets like Armortec 900-T were on their graphic back in the day and I loved the A900-T as a 4U. Does it even compare on the head heaviness or its much more even balance or with all the new tech and counter weight stuff it feels perfect as a 3U?
I had tested 88S 3U by dry swing (without string) it felt super heavy comparing D10 and Arc 11 (without string) if u had a strong arm with good smash 3U 88S definitely is a good choice if u not 4U is a good replacement and friendly use racket.
That is tough question to answer u hv to try out the 88s and D10 which one suit u better since everyone play differently
The 4u astrox 88s has comparable speed to n7ii, but I like the more solid smash feeling of the 88s than the n7ii. Around the net, they felt more or less similar. I definitely felt more head weight on the 88s. Drop shots are solid with both. Accuracy for me, the 88s felt better, which is of course very subjective. I would say the 88s is very similar to the n7ii, which both excess in the mid court and net area, but the 88s has a better edge over the n7ii in back court smashing due to the head weight distribution. So with my personal feelings, i felt that the 88s is better for ME as an all-round racquet. It's always hard to compare two great racquets, because they are both good. The better way to find out if one suits you better than the other is to test the racquets yourself, if you have the luxury and convenience to do so. Who knows, the n7ii might suit your playstyle better .
My 4u 88s finally cleared customs, and I just received it today. I will test this racquet out more in my upcoming sessions on this Wednesday and Thursday. I've already put 8 hours on my new 4u Victor falcon, so I'll be comparing both the 88s and falcon to my beloved n9ii very soon after I get to know them better on court .
So much poison by reading... I'm tempted to get 88S but not sure if 3u or 4u. Previously used a 3u zf1, too heavy. Then I bought zf1 4u, it was magnificent considering I'm always the back player. Then I moved to nr900 because I couldn't get an extra zf1 4u. Needless to say, nr900 3u is so dull I replaced it with duora z strike 3u. Z strike was really good to my liking but it's very less forgiving now because of arm injury (healing from golfer elbow) . My physio asked me to rest more. Called my local shop, they said they have only 4u in stock. So if 3u would be recommended, I need to travel a tad farther to try it out.
Zf1 3u was impulsive purchase but I eventually loved the 4u. I was looking for an alternate because I could no longer find zf 4u(I always have 2 of the same model) , thought I might prefer head lighter boy I was dead wrong lol and also I was looking for newer racket so if I ever need extra, it would be readily available locally. Duora came later but don't really like d10 original color(green/orange). Settled on Z strike but tbh it's really less forgiving. It took some time to get used to it but now that I'm recovering from injuries, I no longer get the feeling I once had with it.
when u cant get something...check with Hovk Eng...prilly have stock...price is competitive...but it takes 45mins drive just to go...petrol n tol money gone
88S 4U is fine because of the slight head heaviness so the overall weight feels just right for me. It's quick enough for drives and accurate on drops and net shots but you get to unleash powerful smash at the same time. Coming from a n9ii, i find the 88s 4u easier to use.
