Defeated in the first round of All England Open 2018,

From what i can see, they made too many errors, they could win the game if less error made from the two player. Losing too many points because the shuttle was out most of the time. :(

You didn't expect them to beat Boe/Mogensen, did you?

Of course i didn't put high expectation on them but i still hope tht they can beat the world no 2 but from the game earlier they could go into the 3rd set if they made less error in the first game.

If beating World No.2 isn't high expectation then what's the level of that expectation?

    Hmm... that's too much.

IMO I would rate the younger Choi Solgyu, Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho higher than this pair.

More to say, Kim Duk Young is not young anymore.... He is one generation with Sung Ji Hyun, Jung Kyung Eun, and also Lee Dong Keun.

Since the early of her senior carreer in Badminton, he never won any GP/GPG or higher tournament at all. What can you expect from that experience?

I don't think they could make a breakthrough into Top 20 ranking.

IMO, One can hope and show support even though the outcome is not what we expected.

Beside they used to beat word no 4 (GohVshem/TanweeKiong) of MAS in 2017. Though at that time the Malaysian pair had some problem.

But i still enjoy watching the Koreans performance no matter what the outcome will be.

Why don't you support the better Korean MD?

Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae have surpassed this pair anyway in term of ranking.

Off course anyone can hope and support any players/pairs which they like BUT please be realistic and don't give too high expectation.

    Win/Loss ratio
    - Chung Eui Seok : 85 / 76
    - Kim Duk Young : 83 / 56

Compare that Win/Loss ratio with another Korean players:
    - Choi Solgyu : 290 / 133
    - Seo Seung Jae : 183 / 79
    - Kim Won Ho : 115 / 37
    - Kang Ming Hyuk : 96 / 39 ---> still playing at Junior tournament in 2017

That's just my opinion though, shouldn't be a problem if we're not sharing the same opinion. Your entitled with your opinion so i wouldn't disagree with you. Hope you can respect my weird opinion though, Lol.

And the reasons i support them because i always enjoy watching them play and i like their fighting spirit. Though maybe they are are not the best but yeah it's kinda hard to unsupport when you choose to support them before.

And like i said in my previous post of course i wouldn't put high exception on them, if they lose they lose and if they win they win as long i have fun and enjoy watching them playing.

Thanks for the statistic though that's nice to know, still support all of them too.

It's rare to see somebody supporting the unknown players where there are exactly more well known players from the same country.

You're enjoying them play since you didn't watch other better Korean MD playing much more interesting than this on par pair.

Or base on your opinion the other better Korean MD didn't have fighting spirit. It's strange.

I won't surprise if another Korean MD Choi Hyuk Gyun/Park Kyung Hoon are able to overlap this pair. I guarantee you haven't heard that pair's name.

LYD didn't really look like he was anywhere near his best. Looked like he either wasn't trying or was just out of shape. He seemed relatively slow and more error prone than usual.

Youtube. But I don't have the link off hand. Am sure you'll be able to find it if you search their names.

I saw the Choi/Lee vs. Ko/Shin match but not the one against Chung/Kim. Oh, okay, different channels for different courts. The match in question is here.
