I was more asking if you'd cut like 2x 10m off, whack it in a sandwich bag and post it to me, and I'd send you the money for it...
I finally had time to restring my n9ii with the new zymax 64tx. I took it to my Thursday session, and played with it for 3 hours. My impression on this new string is positive. The control is pretty good. It holds the shuttle well for me to execute good net drops and steep angle net shots. It doesn't have the hard feeling of bg80 that I like, but the feeling is not bad. Smashing on the other hand is good, but not bg66um good, so I feel that it's definitely not a replacement for it. The hitting sound is decent, but not thunderous like bg66um. But then again, those are just my personal feelings. For the price that is half of the bg66um, and with much better durability, I wouldn't mind settling for second best. Comparing it with the 66 fire power, the 66fp has a harder feeling than the 64tx, but the control seems better with the 64tx. I feel that it's comparable to the 62f. The repulsion is very well controlled, and I was able to execute better quality drop shots, net shots, and near baseline clears, credit to its good vibration feedbacks to let me know exactly how much power I need to put in every shot, which is a very good quality that bg66um is also offering. I'm sure many of you will know what I'm talking about if you have tried different types of strings, hard to really describe the whole feeling . Overall, the 64tx is a good addition to the zymax string lineup. I'll give it more time in my next week's regular sessions to see if anything changes after the string gets settle in more.
Bare in mind that I'm running it at 28x30.5, the feedback is good. Touch is good and it hits hard. I'm considering taking it upto 32lb next time.
Currently using 68 tx on my new N9ii. Quite enjoying this string, more than expected since I usually use a thinner string. Rougher than my usual goto LN1 and GT5, so control seem to be a level higher. Undecided on power, because I'm still adjusting to the racket, but can't wait to try 64 tx. I restrung my n9ii Ahmad orange on Thursday with hybrid, 68tx and li ning no.1, @ 26/27 lbs. I tested it out on the same day in a 3 hour session. The control at the net is very good. Smashing is at n9ii standard . I've used 68tx only, but it only made me want bg80 or li ning no.5 more. I do like 64tx a bit more over 68tx; the feeling for me is just better. However, using this 68tx and li ning no.1 combo, the feeling is definitely more positive . I'm giving my 88s and 88d a rest for now, and will go back to my beloved n9ii for my regular Wednesday and Thursday sessions next week, so I'll be using this 68tx and no.1 combo for a bit. Hopefully, the experience will get even better as the strings get more settled.
I just had my VT80 strung with a 64TX at 27. I'll see how this would go on our Tuesday game. It feels nicely textured alright, and looks durable. Hopefully it holds up to its promise in the tension retention department. This is only my second zymax string as I've always used 66UM or NBG98.
I agree that the texture is quite nice. It feels very nice in the hands when stringing my racquet with it. If Ashaway does keep up with their standards, tension retention should be undoubtful on the 64tx and 68tx. However, at the moment, if I had to go with a zymax string, I much prefer 62 fire. But since I still have a pack each left of the 64tx and 68tx, I will continue testing with them. If at the end I still don't find it home for me, I can always restring my racquets .
I really would like to try 62f next. I've read quite a good number of reviews/feedbacks about it. 2 gosen 5 are on the way here too and quite excited to finally try this much hyped out string in this community Sent from my SM-J320F using Tapatalk
The 62 fire is definitely worth a try. I haven't tried any gosen strings yet, but I also heard some good stuff about them. Let me know how you like it, I might give it a try this year .
When you hybrid, stringer would do 4 knots right? And i read some opinions that 2 knots is still better than 4 knots. Is that a fact? Sent from my SM-J320F using Tapatalk
With correct and proper technique, 2 or 4 knots makes no difference. Most all pro players rackets are done 4 knots by the pro tournament stringers. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
I will try hybriding with my new stringer and see where it will lead to. Once my gt5 arrives, i'll experiment with that along with my one remaining LN 1. Sent from my SM-J320F using Tapatalk
