I actually really like white/black monochrome colours so I was glad they released the 03Z in white this year. Just got a pair after the coral red colors. I would say the inner bootie is quite loose in these shoes but it could be intentionally designed this way to allow the ankle to move from lunging etc. If it's too tight it would hurt whenever the ankle isn't upright. Otherwise, tying the laces tighter than usual can help with any loose feeling in these shoes.
I don't mind rackets being flashy colours but shoes I would rather they be slightly toned to what the trend atm is highlighter neon colours. I have wider feet so need the 4E cut and really liked the look of the SHB65 ZW but alas they are not selling them in the UK.
Used them last night. Inner booty doesn't feel as snug around the ankle as I'd like, had a few times where I wanted to tighten my shoes. Material on it is strange, it's almost like memory foam. Overall pretty light and easy shoe to move in, great stability as the sole is wider than the canvas. Shoe is definitely on the wider side. I prefer a 4E, but found these fairly comfortable. Cushioning was much better than my now destroyed Comfort Tours; triple layer power cushion is good stuff. Could feel it in the heel of the shoe. Grip is about what you'd expect from Yonex. Can't talk too much about the out-of-the-box comfort, for obvious reasons I used my custom made insoles.
Yh they don't look particularly protective for you ankle. Does it offer much protection for you ankle, I feel it would give way and offer no protection if you go over your ankle in anyway.
It offers some protection, just not as rigid as I'd like. The shoe has a really wide base as I said, so they're stable.
Is that a different version? My pair looks more like this. Not with one big tongue, but a smaller tongue.
I see thank you for the answer. Why would they do that? I have the problem with my pair, that over time my left shoe (left hander) will become more lose when training. Even when I pull the strings tight on both shoes, I can pull them off with 2 hands from my foot. The front of the shows sits nice and tight, but not the heel. I've never been able to pull off my shoes like that.
Yonex have been doing it for years. Some models are mid cut and 4E wide and only sold in Japan. Whereas similar looking model only be sold rest of the world with low cut and 3E width. As for your shoes, you can try to search lacing techniques in youtube. Some techniques will knot the lace firmly.
I see. Well I've always laced them llike this and I've always worn Yonex shoes and I never had this problem, as far as I can remember. I've bought the Power Cushion 65Z as a backup, if these really don't work out, but that would be a shame, since they were quite expensive.
May I point you to: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...s-shb03ex-shb03z-ex-03-jp-shb03mid-jp.170815/ I'm wearing the 3E (same widness as you) but SHB03MD mid ankle cut version. What others would call the 03ZM but mid ankle.
I tried today Yonex Power Cushion Comfort Z and Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z Both in 43, normal wide Comfort Z were narrow, but bearable. 65Z were extremely narrow, put them with a huge effort
The shoe size simply means the length. But there are small, normal and wide feet. It would be stupid of Yonex if they only served one shoe width.Try it out!
Does anyone have pain around their ankles wearing the 65ZM? Been wearing it for a couple months now and had the pain initially, but it went away after i broken them in. Now for the last 2 weeks, I've got the same pain in the ankles and thought it was due to a strain, but now realise it's in the exact same area...
Perhaps try different insoles. I’m using a 55 and after playing my soles hurt. The insoles helped. My 03z with stock insoles felt more comfortable though.
I was using some aftermarket insoles and went back to the stock Yonex insoles. Wore for two matches and gave up. Went back to my mizuno wave fang rx2 and could feel the relieve in pain straight away. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk
