It's still preposterous that one of the two best players in the world has to go home after the first round because of an incredibly bad seeding and ranking system. And that this match does not see commentary because the tournament organisers across the world are allowed to always put their local heroes on tv court.

If he went all out at the end of the second game and lost, the third game would be in jeopardy. Hence “conservation”.

This 'tragedy' certainly is a very good opportunity to push and press BWF to have more coverage on the tour

LD still has amazing control and a lot of variety.

Speaking of tragedy, the draw for the China Super 750 has Lin Dan vs Kento Momota in the first round :(

Well normally there’s no coverage at all until QF so I’m happy just to be able to watch it live on a clear stream...

Don't worry. Ginting's not heading home, but to France, where he happens to be seeded, and playing in a different half from Momota. :)

I have only just got up, and haven't watched the match yet, but I am so relieved that Momota managed to scrape through. Had he lost, there would have been more fodder for his detractors in Japan, ... in the wake of the recently exposed "incident" involving him and Fukushima.

It will be interesting to see how Fukushima performs today.

the part of me that used to the coverage only from QF was happy because of this clear stream

the part of me that acts as a politician (or sport consultant maybe in this case) says that such event (or tragedy) is usually used by certain party to push their agenda to the government/governing body, the agenda which is usually only partially relates to the event

I am solely pointing out that this is a good opportunity if anybody wants to push their own interest towards BWF, I myself am not interested to spend too much time on it though

GMT vs. Mia, the surprise winner over Marin :)

Dens' WS Mia and Line are looking good and worthy of opponent these days....

Just wake up now and seeing some surprising results. CM and SYQ's loss surprise me. How can they lost?

With both CM and PVS are out, GMT's path is much easier. She won't face seeded players until she reaches SF. This is such a good opportunity for her to reach SF. This is in line with Susi Susanti's target to her. Since Uber Cup until now, she only lost against top players.

As usual, KM vs ASG match is always tight. ASG lost in rubber games. With KM's win, the title is pretty much goes to him.

Ahh I missed the last 2 matches. Stupid different time zone haha.

Congrats to KM and LD for making it to the next round.
Sad to see either KM or Ginting get ousted in R1.. stupid drawing

Beating Marin at a non-major is nothing to write home about...it happens a lot.

Now if a Denmark WS beats Tai that’s another story...

4 seeded players ousted yesterday. Let's see how many seeded players lost today.

That was another superb match. To give Momota pressure in Single's match already great for Ginting, imo. The only player that beats Momota twice this year and the only player to have taken 6 games out of him.

Despite that, Momota is the benchmark. Its very difficult to beat him.

Well, technically Fajar/Rian aren't ousted. They withdrew before yesterday.
