He played well and I appreciate his play all I personally think is that SYQ,The all england Champ and WC Silver Medalist, is just not in the best of his form which is expected from The top players in the world and probably thats why Sameer found it easy to win the game...Had the All england Champ been in his form it would have been hard for any player let alone the lucky yet Talented indian. I have nothing against the Indian ( Just to make it clear )
Yep, the Germany pair gave them a good fight. The Germany girl might have just been a little sad for losing this match after all since they could be playing against her idol. hehe
If the winner of the All England or a World Champion loses against Veerma, they're not exactly at their best SYQ looked very drained last time I saw him play, but that was a while ago. Maybe still having trouble with his speed/intensity...? Don't think you really want to play drawn out rallies against SV, iirc he's more of a retrieving rally player rather than taking points with attacking play.
great game by GMT Struggle a bit in the second part of first game But shows her tenacity and superiority of shot accuracy and technique
So how the hell did BWF have the same exact draw of Mia vs Marin again in FrenchOpen R1 and Gregoria at R2 again. What a perfect recipe.
A bit off-topic but have badminton courts always had benches that I haven’t noticed? Just saw the WS match and both of them sat down during intervals. Never seen it before.
It is new It is just added this year, specifically for BWF tour I think it is somehow part of the agreement with HSBC as the sponsor Dont' know who propose it though, as it is not a very useful equipment for badminton match Maybe should give it to the coaches instead
I am happy if she just retire the match completely tomorrow Better to just recover the injury completely at the moment than risk it for lingering injury in her career She already shows how she can still push forward to win understand unfavorable circumstance in this match It is enough to prepare her for more important matches in the future where she will need that extra push again
Gregoria played very well despite being injured in the back. She talked throughout the game with her coach, Minarti Timur, mostly in Javanese language. She kept saying her back really really hurt, can't even make a full swing motion without it bothering her. But the coach kept encouraging her to focus and trying to get points one at the time, that she already managed to reach it that far, it would be such a pitiful waste to just retiring from the game right when you have the chance to win it.
Do you have a source for the agreement? Might be interesting to see if players will start to use it though. If they’re really tired it might be tempting to sit down even for just a minute.
