I abandoned these TX strings since sometime ago. They just didn't work with me, kinda blunt for my taste. Addicted now to aerosonic Sent from my JSN-L22 using Tapatalk
There's no such thing as good or bad tension unless it's very weird setup. In term of hardness/bounce feeling, the same tension TX68 will feel like BG65 strung at around 1-2 lbs higher.
seriously you've been contemplating this string for 3 months, stop posting and go try it. no one is gonna know what your playstyle or current string setup is gonna feel like for you specifically.
Tried it last night...it was awesome () but the stringer changed the head shape of my new Li Ning 3D calibar 600C . Should I cut the strings?

So what's the verdict on 64TX vs 62F? Are they the same diameter? How's it compare in repulsion, feel, control, etc? Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
when i measured 64TX it was a white one from a packet came out to 0.64mm i measured 62F to be 0.66mm from a white reel measurements by a harbor freight digital micrometer softness: 62F > 64TX repulsion: 62F > 64TX feel: 64TX > 62F control: 64TX > 62F hitting sound: 64TX > 62F tension hold/durability: equal, though the 64TX did notch faster than 62F it did not affect its playability. any category that one holds over the other it is not by much after all. i think it behooves the user to understand TX is still only a ZMF string with some texture sprayed on it. and also imo that 62F (and other ZMF) will need a decent amount of prestretching to get to what is expected.
Hi, I'm looking for a more durable alternative to my beloved and frequently snapping BG-80. From what I read, I should be trying/considering ZM65, ZM66F, ZM68TX. Choices are limited locally so I'll have to buy a reel online. Any more opinions on this?
Switched from BG80 to TX68 for the same reason and relatively happy with it. TX68 is about twice as durable, same thickness, similar roughness (perhaps even more). Repulsion of TX68 is pretty good but of course the hard feeling is not quite there. Occasionally, I miss that of BG80. Nevertheless, the trade off is totally worth it for me.
Tension selection wise, my findings with 64TX seem to correlate to Duckfeet's. Been using this string for a week or two now. Strung it at 24x24 and it pinged at 1285hz. I've been stringing LN1 at 26x27/28 for the past year and this has also come up at around this frequency (LN1 26x27/28 I've felt is actually possibly too high for me but that's another matter altogether). Repulsion wise: much the same as others people's findings, probably a little bit less than LN1 at "equivalent tension" but much more control / feel for softer shots. Tension retention wise: Fresh at 24x24: 1285hz 2 days later (no play yet): 1235hz 5 days after ~2 hours play: 1224hz 10 days after ~9 hours play: 1205hz Personal/subjective (more subjective than the norm I guess!): In a bid to reduce my tension (yes changing more than one variable is never the greatest idea), I guess I was surprised that a "0.64mm string" could be around "3lb equivalent less" than a "0.65mm string". My theory at the moment is that this is more like a ZM62F gauge with the textured coating around it (along with the ZM66FP having the same 0.02mm on top to make up the 68 TX string). I think I read something similar from someone else around here but can't find the person who also theorised this. In short, I'm intending to try 20lb with 64TX on another racquet for experimentation purposes.
Hi, Recently purchased ZM 64TX (yellow), brought to a regular shop to string my racket at 28 lbs, and the stringer told me that the strings very easily slips off the clamps (even after readjusting the clamp) and i was there observing the stringjob. As well as during games, my main strings kept sliding left and right, and certainly it defeats the concept of having rough textured string. Is it possible that i am getting a fake product? I am trying ZM68TX now (next to G-Tone 5 and Adidas Wucht P68) and after not liking the feeling of any Ashaway string I tried, I'm pleasantly surprised by this one. For Ashaway, this is a hard string with a very rough surface. Let's see how it performs over time. One point where it really stands out compared to other strings: It seems to love stencil ink! It soaks it up and doesn't let go again. No wear on the stencil, no colored shuttles. Not important, really, but nice to have if you like to play around with stencils.
Well... it was a nice, but rather short affair. exactly one week after the post above and it broke due to fraying at the center of the sweet spot. Performance, feeling, tension was all good until the end, but if that's the regular lifespan for it, it's not worth it. I really didn't play that much with it, so at some point I'll try the second pack I got, but that'll wait for next year.
