Well it did. Quite miraculously. Also quite nerve wrecking. It's a 4U AX77 so there aren't an abundant of material either. Are you can see, the area has been compressed a little so fracture had already occurred internally. I don't expect this to last too long.
No, it looks bad! I’ve saved one of my teammates racket with similar crack on 12 point. I removed the grommets and drowned the crack and the holes with some Loctite super glue, and it has survived for over a year now.
Ouch!! Miracle it survived! Not sure I would have tried with an obvious break like that. Maybe with a slab of epoxy and super strong grommet. And at 24lbs! Keep us informed when it breaks with pics
I'm thinking more of reinforcing the top and bottom with thin aluminum sheets (ala lead thingy) and tying them up with some strong but thin strings and forged by a good amount of epoxy. If epoxy alone, it might still break. This would make it head heavier but maybe an additional grip might be needed to offset the head heaviness as a result. Sent from my JSN-L22 using Tapatalk
oh cmon, dont use aluminium, this is carbon fiber frame. One should go to your local store of composite materials, buy cf cloth and epoxy. Btw, the epoxy for this purpose is thin and elastic, not like epoxy glue. If done carefully, it can hold tension, but you the racket will not be as powerfull as new, and slightly unbalanced.
I attempted to repair some broken racket throw away. You need to insert a piece of something inside. I insert a piece metal and it holds. But the racket sucks big time. It has not a good feeling...
actually I don't know, my son was using it. I doubt it hit anything, with the structural damage it was surprising that it lasted 2 weeks!
