Box side towards you, sharper side away from you.

Some people can't feel the difference and some can. It's up to you really.

I’ve kinda just gotten used to holding it that way personally. Always thought it was better to get used to the way it was meant to be than something random.

Hey guys, I just came back from playing my first 3 hours with this racket (strung with aerobite, 27/25.5)

And i gotta say, im really loving it so far! It looks like everything ive read in this thread was right; every shot was super accurate and controlled, and I've never felt more confident in my shot placement as i have with the 8xp. I had concerns about the stiffness of the racket, but as it turns out it feels just right for me. I did feel a difference between the two sides, although not enough to make me mistime my shots. Clears were absolutely effortless and netplay was fantastic. stick and half jump smashes were noticeably faster and harder than my 3u 88s. The only issues i'm having so far is that i cant seem to hit a full powered jump smash (although i suspect itll come with time), and defense feels slower than the 88s especially in doubles. Despite this however, its still a pretty fast racket for singles and mixed doubles play because of the even balance

It seems that i'll continue to test the 8xp as my go to singles racket now, and the 88s for doubles. Thanks you guys for sharing your opinions, ya'll really helped convince me to buy this hidden gem from Yonex :)

Getting it out again. I will use my go to string gosen gpro70, yellow.
This will go toe to toe with my new zf2.
Both of the rackets are poles apart.

    After 2 hours testing...

Duo8xp is very balance and stiff just like JS10/Nrzsp with bigger frame.

My current racquet is Arc11. Using Duo8xp is very uncomfortable because of the stiffness. I got the same control, speed just like using the arc11 but feel is different because of the stiff shaft.

The only different i noticed obviously is the smashes. Duo8xp smash is defintely harder than Arc11. Smash swings is a bit faster and easier to execute. I need at least a month for my hand’s muscles to get use to the stiffness..

Its time to practice with the wall again...just my routine when im changing to a new racquet

Just came back from a trip to Japan, noticed that the paint color of the Duora 8XP was a lot more glittering metallic dark blue/black than the one I have from Europe. Made me confident that not all JP rackets are being made the same place as world distributed.

And just when I told myself that I wouldn't buy any other racquets this year, a great deal came up on flipkart and it took me a sleepless night to finally order this thing now. Would love to see how it fares also thinking to string it up with the gpro70, it will be my first time using it(just got bored with the GT5 my usual string). Just if any heads up on what tension is it great at ,because my usual is 26x28lbs. Thanks[IMG]
Also next time wouldn't waste a night

Well, congratulations on your new buy. It's a tremendous racket that only demands your patience. Like badmintoncn said, it's a racket that represents a stoic master and nothing else. It's really a no frill no nonsense racket and I am shiftimg towards it from 3u zf2 and a 2u zstrike. This thing is very real.

Well my purchase was solely based on your review. I was really impressed with that, and when I saw that deal(₹400extra cashback so the price comes down to ₹7840 which is simply great) i simply went bonkers as it was a steal at that price. Just wanted to know about the gpro 70, how it performs in comparison to the GT5(sorry for the off topic)

It's a soft slto medium string. Rough in texture. Works well in range of 26-32 lbs. Lasts longer than GT5. White>yellow>black>orange>green colour.
    It feels similar to nbg99.

Yippee my racquet arrived today. Very fast for a flipkart delivery for such a town. I noticed that it was already strung with the BG65. Also it was a tad head heavy I have to measure the BP sometime afterwards but it was a little head heavier. Also what the hell is that PAT pending thing written on the backhand side place. Seeing such things I doubt sometimes whether this is a real one or not. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

It is normal for PAT. I got mine from Singapore through someone else in February 2018. This is normal.

But it is a first for me to see a high end racquet strung that too with a BG65. Also what is PAT??

Patent pending. Whatever is in there is pending a patent grant in Japan.

Voltric LD Force was the first one to start showing these terms (near the top of the shaft near the T joint at the side).

Since then it's getting commonplace. Maybe the release speed of new frames is so fast they didn't wait for it to be granted before putting it on sale, lol
