seems like the "tournament software" live-score web-server couldn't handle the load of all badminton-fans wanting to get an update on the first round scores damn.. and no live-broadcasts neither :-( /Twobeer
Thomas Laybourn/Peter Steffensen is in a close match against a New Zealand (?) pair, leading 15-13 14-13 right now.
The Live-score is too slow. Too many pll is logging in at the same time. refresh rate is slow as well.
first seed to fall is dicky who lost 8-15 10-15 to Sato from Japan in my eyes not an upset... the young Ville from Findland is also through to the second round when he defeated Vladislav in 3 sets.... He is perhaps an upcoming man
Hm. I saw Ville Lang in a tournament some eight months ago. He is one of the most odd players I have seen in many years. He has very "home made" footwork (looks very weird) and he simply does not smash. His whole game evolves around two basic principles: never attack, but make the opponent run. And he is a "retriever" to the extreme. This is actually surprisingly successful against certain player types, but there is a limit to how far you can go by sticking to a game that only consists of drops and clears. It's quite fun to watch his opponents getting increasingly frustrated though. I bet Ville is a good chess player.
I seen Ville Lang for the first time just before christmas and i have to agree with Mag, he's is a very unorthodox player. Not only does he not seem to attack, he is also incredably relaxed on court. I know it's good to be relaxed but this guy takes it to the extreme. And sometimes he can seem a bit lazy. Must really annoy his coaches if he's like this in training. But i agree he has got potential. Think he needs to add some variety to his game, e.g smash.
okay I didn't knew he pkayed like that know. when i played in some international junior tournaments he was a crafty player that like mag said tried to wear his opponents out by running them down. But at that time he did smash, maybe not a lot but like average... maybe this guy is a new roslin
