One loss does not mean a decline. I think it is good that they lost this year so by the time of Olympics, they are not really burdened by the "heavy" favourite pair who have won almost everything and time to win Olympic. Losing in the first round this time is probably better than losing in quarter final because it is the same, they will always have the same pressure next time. If they win Olympic gold, they will definitely continue as a pair. If Indonesia fail to win MD gold, then most likely there will be different pairing being tried.

Like Gideon said, its not because of WC. its the same every tournament whether its ChinaOpen, IndonesiaOpen or AllEngland. They also got knocked out R1 at AE and IO before. Simply because they havent won it, it looked bad.
