Okay guys, here is my report. Yeah, AX88D too stiff for me. I re-string into bg66F 24 lbs, and it's work okay for me. Smash is powerfull, and what i love is how easily to stick smash with it
I have both those rackets in the exact specs you mentioned. The 88D 4U is definitely lighter overall but you feel the extra weight when you swing the racket. In terms of usability I can switch between the two rackets with no issues whatsoever.
Re the 4U 88D, I have one from an early batch that is quite head heavy (bare head weight 38.1g) and plays very nicely with great punch for doubles and a bit of singles. This is my favourite. When I got another one 6 months later, presumably from a later batch, the bare head weight was only 37.4g, which was noticeably less powerful in clears, drives and smashes. I'm just wondering with such a wide variation, the pro players can pick and choose the specs that fit them. So Ginting's and Jorgensen's 4U rackets will likely be cherry picked from the heavier spectrum of production. For reference, I've had a 4U VTZF2 with a bare head weight of 38.4g. Indeed true.... When launch the 88d 3u was very heavy and not easy to use.(borrow from friend) I got my 88d 3u in the later batch and the weight is ideal for me. Much lighter and head not so heavy. My friend feels the same way also.
I've nice experience of hand shaking after one game of use ax88s 3u for a competitive double fast flat game, and then i can't use my favorite ax88d 3u properly for the next game, my hand feel tired. After that i realized any ax88 3U so demanding to be fully tamed, it's requires proper skill and a lot strengths training to maximize the potentials. So, as recreational double player to keep enjoying all ax88 3U rackets, i always alternate with vtzf2 4u or ax88d 4u for next game or even alternate in 2nd set whenever i feel tired and have a competitive opponents. IMO.. a 3U rackets is addictives, but i need to use wisely or be overdosed.
Just got an 88s 4U strung with Aerobite at 24lb. Personally quite fond of it as it fits my style of play. Previously used a N99 Li Ning strung with 58 Kizuna or Arc11 for singles and doubles and a Li Ning Windstorm 72 for doubles (both with Kizuna 63X) when feeling lazy. Now I just use the 88s for everything and it works well enough for me. Not a very aggressive player for sure but my smashes go fast enough with plenty of accuracy probably since I'm quite tall but net play needs work as the repulsion is higher than my other rackets. Have taken to double wrapping the handle with towel wrap as my hands are large and that affects the balance a bit but it all works out in the end. All in all pretty happy with the purchase since I got a pretty good deal on it. Anyway first post here but thank you to all of you for all the advice I have managed to glean from lurking for about a year.
Just bought a 88D, coming from N9ii and Jetspeed 06a I'm curious if the stiffness is going to be troublesome for me. Hopefully not!
Bro what is the upset in n9ii Infact u should be happy?? N9II is such a gem of a racket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thankfully already tried the 88D from a friend, but his tensions were too high for me, but it felt good, so that's why I bought it.
He was upset with the 88D, and his go to racket is still N9II. Or unless he meant he was ordering an N9II over a burger shop Sent from my JSN-L22 using Tapatalk
Finding the ideal combination between lining and yonex is really challenging when u want both rackets in your kit bag. U cant have 2 swords in its shell. Its either this or that. How many players play one game with Lining and other game with yonex? I just can not find a yonex racket after I moved to LiNing. Infact any yonex 3u that I pick feels damn heavier than lining 3u rackets. To be honest I used only 4U yonex rackets in my past 8 years tenure with yonex and now I use only lining 3U.. I tried my friends 4U yonex and I just can’t play any shots with that.. all were frame shots and my timing is messed along with fatigue.. if 4U feels like that just think abt 3U..
