Ok you know i love you Mr Yoji..and your one of my favs in here but I just felt like your downplaying the importance of WC here so here is my thought

I think it is Much smaller than WC not only the 1000 Points difference because even olympics have the same points as World Champiomships.

However the difference is of STATURE the STATUS of World Championships in any sport be it boxing, weightlifting, athletics,Gymnastics,Cricket, hockey, basketball etc..Only two events are considered MAJOR and they are OLYMPICS and WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Furthermore,When a player wins the World Championships tittle he or she gets the honour of being Adressed as World Champion or Fomer World Champion because we all know no one remembers or adresses players are All england champ or All Indonesia champ etc.

In OG obviously its very hard to even get a bronze however World Champiomships are for those players who can still prove themselves to be the best in the world even if they couldnt get an OG medal..thats why its huge.

For A player to get either of these two tittles becomes an automatic legend and Lee Chong Wei's tears are a testimony to my claim of why WC and OG WERE ARE & WILL be biggest tournaments in the world.

And Im sorry if I sound rude..Plz forgive me Mr.Yoji :(

Hehe. its okay man. They blew it but what can they do? Can only look forward and do well at CO. They can try WC again in 2021 (everyone deserves to try again, not just them)

Personally i dont think Minions missing WC is as big deal as LCW missing WC. There are so many tournaments now compared to the past and the prize money is (much) bigger. At the end of the day , most succesful player will be determined on the court (titles) and off the court. (fame, endorsement, money).

If they won OG, maybe you will say they have not won WC so it doesnt really matter. If they win OG, with 20 plus titles, they can quit but will they, what do you think?

The third ranked Japanese came back stronger to frustrate his tall opponent in the second, 21-14. • A big match considering reputation of two contestants, current men’s singles king Kento Momota eliminates home mega star who had passed his prime Lin Dan, 21-14 / 21-14. Momota exploits his excellent strokes and some disguising shots combined with superb retrieving skill that troubling Lin most times.
    • A thrilling encounter earlier on court 1, home favourite Chen Long almost sent packing by Malaysian number one Lee Zii Jia. Moment later, Nozomi Okuhara lost to the high spirited Spanish star Carolina Marin who looks back to her normal game with fast and aggressive shots, 21-16 / 21-18. First time victory for Marin after experiencing tough chapter post horrible injury in INA Masters final early this year.
    • The Minions pass opening round in relative comfortable way to neutralize Japanese tenacious pair, Hoki/Kobayashi, 21- 17 / 21-15. • Women's doubles top-seed and World Champions Matsumoto/Nagahara were pushed to work extra hard by Chinese new prospects Dong WJ/Feng XY in close contest, 21-15 / 22-24 / 21-17. Other contenders of top-half draw through into last sixteen without serious problem.
    • Mixed doubles sixth seed once again scoring dismal outcome, sent packing early in last three tournament, inconsistency is hampering INA number one pair to step up into higher standard. This time they ended brief journey lost to Rankireddy/Ponnappa in three games.

Oh well Endo got faulted by delaying his own serve at 6-4. First time in my life, i see this kind of call. at least umpire has woken up so that this tactics dont happen in future

This should have happened during ChoiSeo vs Minions in WC. it will have resulted in dozens of faults.

Its like Choi serve. why is endo hand shaking when he wants to serve, i m sure he means no harm to opponents unlike ChoiSeo.

At least BWF making improvements. Hope this is consistent. Actually Boe took a long time to serve as well yesterday.

SYQ getting destroyed by his compatriot on Court 3.

Was it even worth showing up with his ankle in this condition?
