Really ? I thought gideon's defense was the problem today, a bit too weak.

Seems like they are under pressure whole of G2, The defeat for Minions is still not as irky as the loss in SO SF .

Well lets just hope Fajri can get past SF , seems like they have mental block like LiLiu currently. Trying to win their 2nd SS.

Just watched their G1. I don't think Kevin was playing around like in R1.

I noticed that Marcus smashes here were much flatter and he had harder times to set Kevin up at the net. Kevin probably spent as much time as Marcus at the back and setting Marcus up. Seemed like they target Marcus more and caught Kevin off guard at times.

Not their best performance and I just hope they sort of let G2 go otherwise I didn't like their body language, particularly Marcus. It's just too obvious whether Marcus is having a good/bad day. It would help a great deal if he could maintain his body language at all time.

Marcus seems getting more prone to injuries in the past year.

That's unfortunate. Get well soon both of them.:(

A great sport legend once said: "As a professional you are never 100% fit and you always carry a niggle here and there but what seperates great and the greatest is how you manage to win even if you are not 100%".

I won't blame Marcus alone for the loss. Kevin was equally responsible and imo he made more errors than Marcus.

    Play hard. Train harder.

But if he couldn't take care of his physical and keeps on getting injured for trivial things, that's his fault. Kevin can't be taken equally responsible for Marcus carelessness.

The champions of korea open proclaimed their target to play in Guangzhou, competing with minions to fill one spot left for INA md.

While alfian/ardianto are scheduled to play in more tournaments than minions - they'll also play in s100 INA master this week - interesting to see who will collect more points in the end

On the paper, both Ahsan/Hendra and Fajar/Rian should be the top 2 with the numbers of the tournaments they are playing this year. Ahsan/Hendra is the WC so they need not to worry about the points.
This is putting more pressure on minions who only play in Super 500+ and never to any Super 300. I honestly didn't like it, last year some pairs qualified to WTF just because they played much more tournaments but never reached the final.
Not really a fair race, imo. At least JPN WD last year all had the same number of tournaments participated (the difference would be the corporate funded tournament).

Now minions have to win all their tournaments, that still not guaranteed a spot if Fajar/Rian will participate in Super 100 and another 2 Super 300 tournaments later on this year.

WTF should be based on S500+ results total put together (15 tournaments) , in my opinion. Most of the top players dont play more than 2/3 GPG (minions 0), why should it be counted towards WTF , where all the top players play , is beyond imagination.

So if its different tournaments , but all is S500+ , it shouldnt lead to way too far discrepancy in No. of tournaments. That is still acceptable.

I think BWF wants to give an equal chance for all players, since not all of them can compete in s500+

It'll be a bit risky to schedule minions in more tournaments, considering gideon's physical fitness
